that finished 2nd in the ACC also lost in the first round as a 4th seed to SW Missouri State mainly because of Grayson Marshall's injury a couple of games earlier. Also Rick Barnes last season they lost in the 5 seed/12 seed match up to Western Michigan.
These things happen...

I didn’t forget. Equally embarrassing.
Like 87, we had a historic ACC regular season. But the ACC was also very weak, especially for that era.
UNC and Duke were not their usual and GT was rebuilding. ACC did poorly in the tournament and we were one and done.
