Men’s tennis is in Blacksburg to face the Hokies today.
We are now 18-5 and 6-4 in the ACC.
Virginia Tech is 9-12 and 1-9 in the ACC. The worst scholarship team in the league (only BC is worse who does not give men’s tennis scholarships).
VT is not ranked in the ita top 75.
VT lineup:

This is a warmup before another big one on Sunday at #6 Virginia. We should win fairly easy but still a conference match so can’t come in sleepy or assuming a W.

That was a little too tight for my liking. Congratulations to the Tigers for securing the doubles point. Now, can we please make easy work in the singles, then get some rest for Sunday. We could sure use an upset Win on Sunday.
I hope they show the scores in the singles during the match. It was hard for me to keep the points straight in the doubles.

But Abderrahman is not playing singles. He’s on the sidelines wearing flip flops. So Gales is 3, Mesarovic is 4, Smith is 5 and Ligniere slides into #6 for his first career ACC match

Winning all of them certainly alleviates some pressure now. Need a couple of players to finish off their 2nd sets quickly.

No doubt we'd have pulled it out, but tech was gaining some momentum. Another conference win. Take down the cavaliers Sunday!!! This is fun.

yeah it would have been a far way back for VT to actually make the comeback win

But they did beat Princeton earlier this season in a similar way in their only ranked win this year.
They had just taken the lead at #4 and at #1 after Vukadin failed to serve his out. So if Ligniere doesn't close out the 2nd set there, they might have started to believe. It would have at least been another 30-45 mins of stress and unneeded physical toll for us.
Markov could have finished his out 7-6 7-6 (missed an easy volley at 5-4 up in the 2nd set breaker) that would have clinched it sooner as well.
