baseball players. A few wore sliding mitts for the play, some had elbow guards, etc.
I do enjoy the videos making fun of youth baseball culture. I remember getting a $50 Easton bat one year, but I had to share it with the team because Dad was an assistant coach and said it was the teams bat. We kept it at the end of the season but I think it was cracked.

I believe it. I usually book tee times behind junior golf tournaments. They normally take six hours, so I just get drunk and search for golf balls that the kids lost. I estimated that I earned $12,306 last year selling off brand new ProV1’s that those kids parents bought them just so they could lose it in the trees to the right of the third hole.

I'd imagine those numbers double count kids that participate in multiple sports

which also makes sense. Each sport participated in has a separate economic impact.

Gambling is a gene I didn't get, and don't understand.

Some folks are simply addicted to gambling. I don't get it. I see it happening though, and understand how it could be that much money.
Maybe I'm too cheap to gamble. And that kinda tracks when I look at someone uber rich with a big boat or a house on an island and think "I have made a lifetime of wrong decisions..even if I didn't know I was making them."

so I really can't even be tempted with a lottery ticket except maybe once a year.
I don't have enough to risk it and I have never hit on much. Someone did give me a scratch-off that won $50 though, that was cool.

I'll bet a dollar or a beer playing golf or shooting pool, betting on MYSELF to beat a buddy, but that's pretty much it. And it's a $2 beer, nothing I'll miss if I lose.
As for betting on teams or other people, nah, not interested.
I've been to Las Vegas 4 times in my life. Never gambled a penny. Probably not many people can say that.
Having said that, I do believe that the stock market is a form of gambling, and I do that, so I'm not totally virtuous.

the other two I had overnight stay on trip to Cali. The last one was for the Natty football game in San Jose, that was the best plane route I found to get out there.
I REALLY wanted to drop a hundy$ or so on the Tigers the night before when I was there, as they were a big underdog to Bama and I felt really good about it. Problem was, I didn't know how I could cash a winning bet ticket in as I was leaving and not coming back through. Maybe you can mail them in but I didn't look that deep into it (obviously I wasn't THAT interested in it).

If you had simply asked: Is more money spent on youth sports or the NFL? I would

have likely said "youth sports". There are 32 NFL teams - but there are 32 million youth sport teams.

Looks highly suspect
For starters, the revenue for NFL is a lot higher than listed ($23BB in 2024). And second, revenue of the league isn't the same as economic impact. The economic impact is much higher than the revenue figure.
