have a position that he coaches.

I see a number of posts wondering about what position the new DC will coach. I think Alabama has moved away from that for next year.

I would not be surprised if Clemson's new defensive coordinator doesn't have a specific position to coach so Dabo won't have to limit his options on who to hire for DC and who he should retain or not from the existing staff as a result.

I wonder if Ben Boulware would be ready.

- He was a film junkie and brings the intensity needed for that spot.

Or, as David Hood has alluded to a few times now, maybe the new coach brings 1-2 guys with him.

What do you mean what makes Ben qualified to be the DC? He was a former player. That falls under the requirements per the " Friends and Family Plan " criteria for hiring coaches and recruiting players.

That would be worse continuing with Wes Goodwill's defenses.

Not sure Ben has the coaching experience to be our linebacker coach yet.

But, I do like coaches that had to overcome athletic limitations to succeed at their positions during their playing days.

Love Ben but way way too early for DC. Let him learn to be a Lb coach first. Get a position down and work his way up. His intensity and love for the film room will go a long way and a great start
