With Murphy and Simpson out of the bowl game......

Dec 13, 2022, 3:22 PM

I really think we need to take a step back and look at this bowl game for what it is: a postseason game that gives us a chance to really let some of the younger guys who need snaps get them. Does that mean not try to win the game? **** no, queue Herm Edwards and his quote "you play to win the game", but not getting some guys in the game now would be a missed opportunity.

This means Obviously Cade (only 119 snaps this year so far), but think of guys like:

-Cole Turner (17 snaps this year, kids gonna be a good one! Needs the weight room like Nuk did after the 2010 season)

-Tristian Leigh (50 snaps this year, most important guy to get in the game IMO because he's likely taking over for McFadden at LT next year. For comparsion, McFadden has 884 snaps going into the Orange Bowl this year).

-Sage Ennis (54 snaps this year, likely the #2 behind Brinny next year at TE with Allen graduating).

-Adam Randall (261 snaps this year but no more than 35 in a game and 32 last weekend. With Cade at QB, Randall figures to be the big time physical presence at WR next year.)

There are obviously more (like the young guys at DE, especially with Murphy gone and if XT and Mascoll both leave, the younger DTs, etc...), but those 4 are gonna be crucial to next season imo.
