Who is ready to finally admit that,

Dec 30, 2022, 11:28 PM

Dabo sold his program out for his belief he could raise his coaching hires within, rather than going on the outside of his program to hire? That's what I thought the second he announced the new offensive and defensive coordinator hires, and I haven't changed those beliefs since that moment!!!! It's very sad, but I truly believe that it's the truth!!!!

I think it was a bad decision.

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt b/c he

Dec 30, 2022, 11:31 PM

Earned that, but I agree that both coordinators are aweful with the caveat that Streeter might actually be good but Dabo meddles in the O making Streeter look worse.

He wants the Dabo tree. Not happening. He better change the staff and hit the portal or you will never see the playoffs again.

He’s gone outside the program before, & honestly BT Potter, Cade @ the end of the half, & the fake FG is what that killed us this game, we left 12 sure pts on the field…

Man his coordinators are lost when it comes to making at the point decisions, and our players haven't looked good all year. This 2022 team has out talented every win they have!!!

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'll admit that there have been some questionable calls

Dec 30, 2022, 11:34 PM

on both sides of the ball.

Really surprised by our defense tonight.

Cade is playing like an inexperienced quarterback so can't fault him too much.

Seems like Dabo is not real interested in winning this game. It's more of a teaching point for next year?

Looking forward to next year... Go Tigers!

Dabo is stubborn

Dec 30, 2022, 11:34 PM

but I also believe he is a good person at his core, but to compete at this level you have to be ruthless. Dabo just doesn't have that. I believe that BV DID have that drive and thats why we were good then. Now he is gone, and Dabo has free reign to spread his pacifist ideals.

I truly believe that Dabo is a good man, but he has faults like any coach, and I believe his project of home growing his coaches was a serious mistake, better coaches than Dabo wouldn't try a stunt as that!!!

Dude, 1st start with freshman qb

Dec 30, 2022, 11:34 PM

Even TL16 had to be bailed out by KB2 at aTm.

Cade looks really good, just some things to clean up.

Cheer up!

that was TL's 2nd game***

Dabo has all the resources (money) he needs at his disposal to hire qualified, experienced coordinators. Why he chose this path is beyond me.

Re: Who is ready to finally admit that,

I think he has good intentions....trying to give young coaches a chance like Terry Don gave him but it's not working out anywhere. He needs to decide in this new college football world whether this program is going to be a wolf or a sheep....there is no in between.

Re: Who is ready to finally admit that,

Dabo needs to decide if he wants to continue being a D1 head coach. The game is changed and it's coming down to he is not cutting it in the new world of College Football. Continue being stubborn and get passed over. Clemson don't deserve that.

Dec 31, 2022, 1:45 AM [ in reply to Re: Who is ready to finally admit that, ]

This team needs outside help on offense. D is good enough to win. I think Wes did an admirable job considering the players he did not have and a Tenn O that is really good. BV had his bad moments. OSU and LSU steam rolled him. We all know what the problem is. For two years this offense struggles with consistency. It repeatedly has low scores against defenses that other teams put up higher numbers against. If they can do it why can’t this team? It is a coaching problem. Cade showed his inexperience tonight but no doubt he will be great. He is a needed improvement. However if Dabo refuses to change coaches with him I’m afraid all we can hope for is winning conference titles.

I thought the same - gave dabo the benefit of the doubt

starting to doubt

used to overachieving - underachieved this year

the play for is son to do that was sickening to watch. totally embarrassing play for Clemson to run and set the LOSING tone for the whole game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well he ain't gonna be able to hire anyone from the outside

Dec 30, 2022, 11:43 PM

if he keeps nosing in on the OC play calling.

when your ideas are no longer cutting it

Dec 30, 2022, 11:46 PM

but you flat out refuse to bring in new ideas from the outside then you are in trouble..and that is where we are at right now..defensively its not as bad because our recruiting there hasnt fallen that far..but offensively it has

Re: Who is ready to finally admit that,

Dec 31, 2022, 2:00 AM

I think he believed developing coaches from within was better for his program than going outside just like he believes recruiting high school players is better for his program than using the portal.

And because he is very stubborn, he will stick to the plan until it either succeeds or fails. I hope I'm wrong and he adjusts his stance because he realizes that not everything he tries works, but I have my doubts.

They have been in the job for 1 season.

Is Virginia and Okie already regretting their decisions as well. Hate to break to the haters of the coaching staff. WE DO NO LONGER have the previous studs we once had. Bad recruiting or just plain misses.

I do not care to place a lot of blame on any one area seeing the coaches coach but the players need to execute.

I do not care for Streeter for one simple reason and again this was his first year calling plays and this could change, but I would love it if we ran the ball at least 10 more attempts than we throw. We need a better OL period. We will never get back to 16 and 18 with our current OL play.

Yes it’s a buddy club at our expense. Nick Saban did it one year, we beat them badly in the championship and he fired all of them and brought in new coordinators, proven coordinators. We won’t see that. The best is not the standard when it comes to coordinating.
