When the dust settles, will Duke really be left out?

I dont think it's if Clemson leaves the ACC, it's when. We def have a seat at the table. But, a lot of the predictions I've seen have Duke being left out of the major conference shifts. Does their years of football neglect finally come to bite them in the *** or does basketball get them an invite(Big Ten is the only option I see, don't think the SEC wants any part of them).

I hope they get left out and end up in Div. 11.

Football is the money maker. The fact that they neglected football and facilities is a problem of their own making. Screw dook.

BIG TEN. Maybe with added money they can build a great football program. But will the fans follow? Duke us a huge brand but unfortunately it's in basketball and education. Not really football. It can be, but they would need to bring in more than 30,000 fans for sure.

Duke and WF are in Bottom 5 of D.1 enrollment

Coach K single handedly kept them relevant and Dave Odom did the same for Wake. Duke may well go down like Wake has done. Lacrosse and baseball are not going to pay the bills at either place and I think they going AAC or something similar at some point in the future.

I prefer Duke over N.C. State.

Football is the king of college sports

But there’s a good case to be made that men’s basketball is the prince.

Duke’s 2 biggest things they bring to the table for a new conference are academics and that they are one half of the biggest rivalry in college basketball.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Duke doesn’t try and ride UNC’s coat tails as a package deal the same way UCLA did with USC.

I think they can sneak in the BIG 10 but they will definitely be a question mark when the conference eventually dissolves.

Duke, Vandy, UNC, Wake, Kentucky, Virginia and USuck (Gals) need to form their own conference and just go ahead and be basketball driven. Let the big boys play big boy ball with the pig skin.

Because of Duke's academics, they are a Big10 school if they move.

Being left out of a football league won’t hurt them. There are many top level basketball schools that don’t play high level football.

They made the mess that is their history in football.

Duke runs a program in part affiliated to Wuhan University

Graduates there are given full Duke Alumni status.

As far as I am concerned, we don't need any more opportunities for the Communists to spread their left-think. I personally prefer that Duke not only be left out of any conference realignment, but that they be physically expelled from North Carolina as well.

Maybe they can become an honorary catholic school

and join the big east. At the very least, the basketball would be top notch.
