What the bleeping bleep

Is wrong with some of you people? I have come on here for the past 2 weeks after to games and been completely shocked at some of the comments I have read.
Both weeks after watching I have come away thinking to myself, “ WOW we are looking really good in this early season with limited preparations. This is going to be a great season.” Trevor’s passes look crisp and well time, ETN looks even more of a beast this year, Rogers is all over the field (okay so he had a few drops), we have a TE again, and holy hell at our young D and those freshmen!... oh and I can’t forget about Potter kicking a failed goal that was close to entering another zip code.
Then I come on here and I would swear we had a mediocre team that was lucky to be winning. Yes we are young in some areas, yes we are lacking on others, but come on this team looks good and will only get better as the season progresses. Every year we have issues early and every year we get better is those areas as the seasons progresses. It’s the Dabo way... play as many as you can, as early as you can.

Great post! You make way too much sense with a positive point. Prepare to be ripped to shreds with negative responses.

Getting the freshmen and second/third team game experience will pay dividends later in the season and beyond. Keep winning Tigers!!!

Bleep, bleep, bleep. We are a mediocre team because we have a mediocre coach who refuses to run up the score .Come on Man! Notre Dame put up 52 points against South Florida, which beat the Citadel at home last week 27-6 ,and we only put up 49. The way I see it that makes Notre Dame a +3 point favorite when we go there. We might need a little more than luck when we go to Notre Dame. We may need Touchdown "J" to convert.
Is that enough "BLEEPING" for you this morning.

I sure do hope ND is a 3 point favorite when we play them. Even a 3 point dog would be good for my wallet...

I don't like some of the "aww...these backups sux" comments, but it's been undeniable Clemson's offense looks like a Death Machine when the 1's are in...and like a sparrow hitting a screen door as the bench empties. We got outscored 13-10 in the second half at Wake...and scored exactly zero points in the third and fourth quarters against Citadel...though it must be pointed out those were largely 3rd, 4th, and even 5th-string (if there is such a thing!) guys at that point.
That does inspire comment. So what's going on?
We're loaded most places. Trevor looks like a stronger-armed Joe Burrow at this point; DJ Uiagalelei is already showing massive tools - size, a huge arm, pocket presence, athleticism. When he puts it together, looks out...and you could see his confidence growing series-by-series against El Cid. We've got a stable of really impressive RB's, our wideouts are on the young side but look the part, our TE stable looks deep. Defensively, we've got a ton of really impressive DL, some of whom are very young, our LB corps looks really good; we've got some youth in the secondary but you can see the athletes; I think we'll have some busts at times but those guys will be fine the more experience they get and there's probably 10-12 guys there who will legitimately contribute.
I think the big problem is backup OL. Our 1's are really strong but after that it drops off a cliff because the newbs are so young and OL is just a position that usually takes a couple seasons to really develop.
I also think we're seeing the "COVID gap"...the older guys got in and had a stable couple years before COVID hit; their practice routines and preparation are set. But you can see the effects the disruption caused by COVID has had on the younger players...they just haven't had the reps, practice time, or consistency the older guys has and it really shows...and not just at Clemson. More than a few people have commented on the generally sloppy state of college football in 2020; teams are a mess and execution is not nearly what it ordinarily is.
There really is just a massive gap between where Clemson's (starters) are and honestly, where every other team that's currently playing is...Dabo has made the comment a number of times that Clemson's team culture will get it through 2020 and especially when the Death Machine is just steamrolling opponents you can see what he's talking about.
I'm personally distinctly curious to see where our usual rivals like Bama and Ohio State are when they resume. Will they look more like Clemson's starters...or like the rest of college football?

But the play calling has put it in the endzone every time, and I don't think we have had to go to 4th down.

This! We’ve yet to push the LOS forward in a power formation against the likes of Wake and Citadel. Coupled with a secondary that has looked average at best is concerning moving forward

Did you also notice that the play calling got more conservatitive after scoring 49 points? Dabo decided not to embrass The Citidal due to their committment to play the whole game without a running clock,

the way it did. It's allowed the 2nd string and on to play and gain valuable experience. Backup QB and backup OL are really important for us to develop right now. Weak at both as compared to previous years. DJ is no Chase Brice YET for sure. I hope we only need him as a backup! I was likewise worried about the backup LBs, but they appear further along than I thought. Maybe it's the competition. Not as worried about secondary. We've had 2 returning guys out each of the first two games. The newbies have had to play, and hopefully they are learning. I feel better about Sheridan Jones than the others. Probably Booth and Davis next. Going to be a great year!

I just think a lot of you are looking at this team through those orange colored Dabo brand glasses you are so used to wearing. I've always looked at the teams realistically. And IMHO this team is not the teams of the past 5 years. We shall see, I hope.

Too early to tell, but Trevor is very crisp and Travis seems even quicker through the holes. Really like the tight end options! I think we will be just fine as long as our OL stays healthy. They will only improve with more reps. Murph and BB on the DL are ridiculous already. Man, I'm very optimistic. Would like to see better secondary coverage than what we saw against WF and steadier hands from the WR core, but if Dabo is correct and I don't see why he would be saying it otherwise, if this is his most talented squad- we should be fine.

Yes, you are technically correct. Not many players on this team were on the last five teams.

It comes with the territory.
No matter how much success you have, fans aren't satisfied.
Trevor and Travis look even better than expected. But, Trevor threw an incompletion and Travis didn't have a single rush over 30 yards.
Scrubs held Citadel scoreless but give up 100 yards. DJ only went 8/11 and didn't throw a TD.
Skalski recovered 2 fumbles, but he only ran 1 back for a TD.
Always something to complain about.
Note: I just reread this post and I can see how it might come across as being written by a smart aleck jerk. Please understand. I didn't mean it that way. Just trying to inject a little humor. Clemson fans are very blessed. Enjoy the ride. I won't last forever.

I don't care if the Tigers win them all by 1 point because in the end, they win them all.
However, 24 point and 49 point wins are less stress and gives a bunch of players valuable experience.
Just win baby, we love you! GO TIGERS!!
