I really feel for folks who have to work in this kind of heat. I’ve had a cushy desk job for 32 years…so I know I couldn’t handle it! I spend my share of time outside doing yard work and play golf occasionally, but this time of year I have to work around the fringes (early morning and/or late evening).

I do outside work, and have a couple Hispanic crews and they all wear sweatshirts in the summer. I asked why and they say it keeps them cooler. Once they start sweating their undershirt gets wet and they swear the sweatshirt keeps them cool bc of their wet shirts under thei sweatshirts. It holds in the sweat and cools them down. I had to ask bc they always wearing long sleeves in the summer and that’s what they have all told me! Go Tigers!!

Doesnt evaporate real well when the humidity is 80-90%. Ask me, i was on roof several days last week cleaning gutters, trimming trees and cleaning roof. It was horrendous! Hotter this wk.

Sounds like the old timers who used to tell me drinking coffee in the summer actually cooled them off better than a cold liquid.
BS to the sweatshirt theory and coffee. I especially enjoy seeing people wearing a hoodie in this heat.
That action is slowly cooking what brain cells they have remaining.

Any truck manufactured after January of 25' is supposed to be equipped with A/C . We haven't got any of those in Greenville yet. I'm retiring in the next 5 years. I honestly don't think I will ever be in a pkg car with ac.

I have MS, and the heat is terrible for my condition. I can play some golf, but it's time to hang that up until probably September. Fortunately, there are places like PGA Superstore and Social Latitude where you can play different courses and work on your game through the hottest months.
