on Tuesday that I wish Dabo had given Kelly the week off, to make what was a monumental decision. I wanted him to stay, and I think if Dabo had done that, Kelly would be back right now, with damage to team chemistry, ego, etc.

A couple days is all Dabo felt the team could afford. A player can't miss much practice and play that week. He gets behind and out of tune with the rest of the team. I think the deadline was Wed of last week. KB can redshirt this year and try out for the team as a walkon next year but he won't make the cut. We know now that we have two fine QBs with a much higher ceiling.
If that sounds cold it is. It's the law, justice and the one of the things we learn growing up. An offer is made. At the exact time the offer is accepted a contract exist but with one basic stipulation, there must be consideration. That means both parties of the contract are getting something and giving something. That's the basic meaning of 'consideration.'
If you'll think back to recruiting that's exactly what happens. Clemson and Kelly made a deal and a contract was filed on signing day. Clemson provided its legal obligation to Kelly and he breached his part of the contract. That is immoral, imo. A man's word is his bond in my world. I don't mess with trash who can't make a deal and stick with it. Fool me once, shame on you...
So no. It wasn't in my power but I would not make another deal with Kelly or anyone else who quit the team or breached the contract in any inexcusable manner.

OK some people will say that because they think what the coach says just must go but I’ve been a player. I’m telling you 100% that there will be players on the team that will lose respect for Coach if he lets him back on the team. Every practice whoever he’s chewing out how do you take him seriously? Can anybody just leave practice and come back?

No I don’t know anything about how the team feels but when you have that many players the chances that “some” have a problem go way up. They may not voice it or show it but it may be there in the head. Regardless yesterday was great and moving forward hopefully this game helps us. That was a “battle test” What say u?

This team just rallied around Chase Brice. Kelly put the team in this terrible situation yesterday and almost cost us our season by leaving us like he did. After rallying around third string the way we did and watching the team come together at the end, there is no way you allow the person who put you in that situation to come back

Something to be said for trusting in the coaches but I agree absolutely no way. Anyone who has ever played a sport at even a high school level knows you never quit on a team. KB is a quitter and if I were a player no way I want him back, especially after an emotional rally behind Chase Brice.
In my opinion, even if Dabo does allow KB back, he better be third string holding up a sign until he proves his worth.

Third string really doesn’t even matter because it’s all about letting him back or not. If you let hom back and put him at third string it still sends the message to the players that you can get away with certain things. I will say that if he did decide to let him come back I would trust the coaches to still have the players prepared to play

I wish the best for him, but it would be a huge distraction to the program and it is time to move on. I hope he wins the starting job wherever he lands, but that just wasn't in the cards at Clemson. And you never know, the motivation to prove people wrong can be a powerful force, maybe he turns the corner his next stop and gets drafted. At the end of the day that is what this decision was all about.

it was a hard decision for him I am sure, but he buys himself another year to improve in a different system. It worked out well for Russell Wilson, so you never know.

I don't think any Clemson fans ever wanted Kelly Bryant to go away. Pretty sure the idea was to let him get playing time behind Trevor.
After leaving the team to try to get a starting job somewhere else I think it is best for him to stick with that plan.
Between the run game and Chase gaining additional reps in games and practice Clemson can win with Trevor or Chase.

Chase Brice’s performance wouldn’t have change my mind. It’s principal. It’s not about “well should take Kelly back because Brice can’t win and we have to win?” No. He left. If we lost I think that people would be even more angry with Kelly Bryant

I wanted to say yes. He's a Tiger and he's invested a lot to our program. Dabo said he would welcome him back, so would I.
On the other hand, I genuinely think we dodged a bullet, not just for an L for the game, but for the whole season and also the direction of the program.
I imagine, if we lost, it's highly possible that teams could be divided, morals could be down, players could try to find things to blame and it could go ugly from there.
But, now, with such a win, we are in a really good situation as a team. Morals are great.
So, just like someone else already said it. It may not be a good idea to have distraction back to the team--there will be players who welcome him back, while some others will be upset. So, no, it's not a good idea.
Moving on. But if Dabo says okay, I'm good with that. But I'm sure Dabo has his way. Maybe, Kelly Bryant has to start at the bottom of the depth chart.

Had he stayed as a backup, I think he would have got a standing ovation from all Clemson fans. He might have earned the right to be a starting QB again.
But then we wouldn't have seen 200 yards by Etienne and we wouldn't have seen what Brice is capable of.

He gave him until Wednesday morning at 10 AM. I am not aware of Dabo being open to the idea of KB returning at this point. I know they discussed it on TV yesterday, but I would be very surprised and disappointed if Dabo would allow him back on the team now.

My family and I were visiting Mickey Mouse and all of his friends the past few days. We did take a midday siesta on Saturday. I got back to the condo just after the hit. I was immediately upset with KB for a selfish move. After BC threw the first int, I was ready for a return ( and even more p##### off) of KB. But, after some time to think, which KB should’ve done, I’m “disinclined to acquiesce” his return.

Seems like it would be bad chemistry or at least add the potential for some negative vibes and distraction. KB will not make it in the NFL. He should have not burned bridges at Clemson.
Seems like words from the coaches and Dabo seem to be walking back on Dabo's original comment that he would take KB back.

yesterday? Yeah that's right Feaster didn't quit when the coach told him he was being demoted. He stayed and he worked his ### off and his reward? He gets to play the game. And Saturday Feaster gave us a lot of BIG TOUGH YARDS to get us in position to WIN!
NO KB doesn't deserve anymore recognition for abandoning this TEAM!

Dabo is moving this team forward with the guys that we have and that want to at Clemson. We should make it a point to follow suit. I say a ban on any mention of the former (quit) QB is in order!!
