The Dabo cult who thought that anything I wrote last week implied that I didn’t want Dabo or Clemson to win yesterday, despite me saying nothing along those lines and even saying the game was winnable. Bengaline is trying to play the same game too…this is the second post like this he’s made. It’s bizarre behavior, this “say or think anything negative about Dabo and it means you hate Clemson and want us to lose every game and want Dabo fired immediately” crowd.

I mean you can’t blame them, for several years Dabo has been saying that his critics want him and his players and team to fail, ignoring the reality that he is talking about people who bleed orange and spend their treasure to support the school and program, they’re just following his lead.

but maybe we are arguing over where a behavioral line is.
On one hand, it is way off base to denigrate Dabo's character or his values, or the source of those. Those have been well known from the beginning, and no one chirped about them in 2018. On the other, there are people who still think West or Bowden were the greatest coaches ever because they were on the Clemson sideline. Pumpers and haters.
Somewhere in the middle it is perfectly reasonable for Clemson fans to think that the team has been in a 4 year funk and that bad games are described as rainbows. None of that has to change one's understanding that we're talking about a program that just won 2 NCs, and will contend for one again soon. It is difficult to see where middle ground begins and ends.
A few people are clearly over that line. Can't do anything about those people, who are everywhere. However, I think most of us here merely wander too close to it at times, or we forget that we're arguing about where the line is, or we don't accept cautions that we're getting close to it. This can get personalized, especially when we're mostly anonymous.
I don't know what the answer to that is. I'm just sayin' that this seems to be the case. Some seemingly hate fueled things have been said by people who I don't think are actual haters. How to disarm that before it turns into what we have seen lately, I do not know.

between the one side calling Dabo "a redneck a-hole" and the others who seem to not be able to see issues with the program over the last few years. But on this message board, you're mostly only going to see and hear the extremes and that's to be expected. But getting personal or toxic with each other is childish and dumb.

Instead of trying to score cheap "gotcha" posts on fellow fans who had some valid criticisms of the program? It’s an awesome win but don’t pretend people didn’t have legitimate concerns and one game doesn’t get rid of them. What if we come out next week and step on our ##### against GT?
Great upset win. Doesn’t fix our losses that we stupidly pissed away and should have won.

There are some myopic, blinkered types who think robust criticism after a lengthy train of underperformance across the course of **many** games is unduly harsh, unwarranted, and even presumptuous, but that even one win in the wake of that is enough for exhaustive vindication for the prior polly-Anna-ish excuse-making.

I think bengal was referring to comments that went beyond program criticism to personal attacks on a guy who won two NCs and elevated the program to an unseen level. Personality quirks that were okay in 2018 are now said, by some people who dont know him, to be deep character flaws responsible for four losses. Criticism and attack are not the same, and some comments crossed the line. I think we know bengal well enough to know which he was referring to.
