A down year, you can expect the team to still be dangerous. Thus is because there is still enough talent on roster to allow for a surprise upset or even beat down of another team. That has not happened this year and likely will not because we simply have zero offense and absolutely no push from the offensive line. There's just nothing there on that side if the ball. Our offense's longest scoring plays this year have been for the other team, literally.

TCU played in the CFP Championship last year

and went undefeated in the regular season. Now they have a losing record. They don't have the recent history Clemson has, but that's the only real big "disappointment" I can think of to nearly the same degree. I have no idea about what talent they lost last year vs what they have this year.
