I asked the people near me about it and they all just grunted and shrugged.
Illegal Wedge Formation
ARTICLE 10. a. A wedge is defined as two or more players aligned shoulder to
shoulder within two yards of each other.
b.
Free-kick down only: After the ball has been kicked, it is illegal for three or
more members of the receiving team intentionally to form a wedge for the
purpose of blocking for the ball carrier. This is a live-ball foul, whether or
not there is contact between opponents.
PENALTY—Noncontact foul. 15 yards, spot of the foul, or 15 yards, spot
where the subsequent dead ball belongs to Team B if this is
behind the spot of the foul. 15 yards, previous spot with the
down repeated if the subsequent dead ball belongs to Team A.

It sure looked to me like they had 4 guys within the area you'd consider the "wedge".

stadium at that point. It really changed the entire course of the game. That was the play that made the crowd get back into the game. And it was illegal. But it will get swept under the rug by ESPN.

and here we go.... Living in Pickens county I expected nothing less. You got beat get over it or let it eat at you all year, it's no never mind to me... I posted a drunken rant last night and everyone seemed to think I am a chicken in disguise. It was compounded by many Second Choice fans getting on the thread and flaming other people, so, naturally, everyone gave me a thumbs down.
CO10 Biochemist here. Tiger since the day I was born. Was born in November and went to my first Clemson game the week I was released from the hospital after my birth. My grandma and late grandpa actually had to leave the hospital right after my birth to make it to a game. I am a born and bred tiger; but overindulging in bourbon last night led to me making some terrible decisions. If anyone happened to see the rant, I would like to apologize again.

I said the same thing when it happened. I doubt it would have mattered though. Gurly ran over, through, and around our D in the second half, and for some reason we forgot that we can pass the ball forward of the line of scrimmage. Also, it didn't look like any of our guys stayed in their lane anyways, so even without running the wedge I think they would have likely gotten the return on that KO.

Ive got a serious question...Does Clemson ever actually lose a game? It seems like to you orange clad people that Clemson has never lost a game, theres just reasons and excuses for how Clemson or the referees beat Clemson.
Yall are complaining about the wedge?! First off that wasnt a wedge, second of all, it didnt matter because there wasnt anyone within five yards of him on either side anyways.
But lets go ahead and say it was a wedge. What about the fact that your coaches didnt adjust to anything at half time? What about the terrible defense and terrible tackling in the fourth quarter? Was that the referee's fault?
Your boys got beat, deal with it and move on. Stop making excuses.
