Sucks for those players that after a 41-14 season and regular season champs to get snubbed by a Florida team that finished one game over 500.

They should have been in but the real gripe should be why a team like Indiana got in and not CofC. TCU also got snubbed.

Florida didn't have a great year but their resume adds up bc of the SEC games... It would have helped Charleston if they beat a power 5 team and/or played more this year. Not sure if teams wouldn't schedule them or what but they only played Nebraska and went 0-3.... All at home. They also only had 2 wins all year against NCAA teams... Usually an at-large mid major from the southeast has a couple of these.

Compare that to Coastal (who does have the benefit of a better conference) went out and aggressively scheduled 12 P5 teams, winning 6. Note, the 12 incl our games rained out.

Florida has been a joke all year, but they got in for being in the SUC and for having a few big time players. Who cares about their records anymore? Completely crazy...

getting at-large spots over 10-2 or even 11-1 non-SEC/B1G teams in football.

Their strength of schedule rankings were pretty poor...

CofC SOS is ranked 90th by D1Baseball (122nd for non-conference SOS), and 112th by Warren Nolan.

A LOT of schools would win 40+ games playing that same schedule.

Teams that got in instead with lesser resumes:

Florida - 28-27 with 30 RPI
Georgia Tech - 31-23 with 49 RPI
Texas - 35-22 with 47 RPI
Oregon - 37-18 with 52 RPI
Illinois 34-19 with 48 RPI
JMU 34-22 with 43 RPI

It is questionable for some of those teams but it likely came down to wins and schedule. CofC simply did not go compete in those midweek games... For whatever reason, maybe someone knows.

Northeastern, I. The CAA also, didn't make it and has a higher RPI than the Cougars.... they went and scheduled a little better as well.. playing a handful of P5 and Big East schools... Got some wins against NCAAT teams in the process.

Illinois won the Big 10 regular season.
