I don't generally like onions on any burgers, but those NEED onions on them, are the only thing that makes them edible. Alcohol helps also with the edibility of White Castles/Krystal burgers.

Caramelized onions for savory dishes, pastas, soups, smothered chicken, etc.
Raw onions for burgers, dogs, tacos.
Crispy onions for casseroles, maybe a steak sandwich something like that
Pickled onions for tacos, a side item for barbecue, snacking
