Really? What a joke this has been. There will be other Deshauns, including 2 on the team now, but there will never be another Banks McFadden.

The basic problem with these comparisons across generations is that 90% of those voting never saw (maybe never heard of) Banks McFaddin. I saw both Deshaun and Banks -- I was coached by McFaddin. Athletic ability? No comparison -- McFaddin was by far the best all-around athlete I ever saw. The man could do everything in every sport. He challenged his defensive backs to race with him -- with him back-pedaling! It was his way of teaching us to cover pass receivers, switching our hips at the last moment. Did he outrun us that way? YES, most of us. Could he do that hip-switch and then take off running? You bet -- and he could still FLY, well into his forties and fifties. No disrespect to Deshaun or to any of the other great athletes in this "competition", but Clemson will need a few Bo Jacksons before there is a legitimate comparison with Bonnie Banks McFaddin.

Per your logic, Christian Wilkins should be higher. after all, he has two Nat'l championships.

A little while longer to make this vote right. Deshaun is arguably the player who put Clemson on the football map but the vote is for best all-time athlete. Banks McFadden should win in a landslide if you vote for the question as written by a landslide.
