We have WR running open all over the field. OL often gives enough time for Cade to find them, but he panics. Or doesn't see holes in the defense.
If Cade can just settle in, step up in the pocket, and begin to make the layups, you will miraculously see a "much improved" OL and WR by default.

I think the difference in this game will be how well we pick up the blitz. Kirby can draw up some good ones. If we can, Cade will settle in and I like our chances.

I tend to agree with dwat. His freshman year against UT, he bailed almost all the time. He got a little better last year, but still would bail out. It was rare for him to step up into it without taking off and running.
Now, I also disagree with dwat too because when the ol held up... which was surprisingly often, Cade wanted to wait to throw the ball to an open receiver. There were times when both stellato and others could have been thrown open. That's the part I hope he's worked on. Trust your receiver.

Throwing open is the key! While Cade can scramble and make passes, he is not good at throwing open WRs. Hopefully that is a trait that grows rapidly as he matures.

It's not just Cade unless you cherry pick plays. Yes, he was inconsistent. So were the WRs, RBs, OL, and play calling.

Can't disagree with that either.

OL, WR and TEs could not block at all. One of these was addressed for sure.

You're correct about UGA and their pressure schemes. I remember DJU getting smothered multiple times in the previous opener with UGA. If the pass wasn't out in 2+ seconds he was in trouble. Our OL protection packages will be challenged.

Here’s the Georgia beat reporters giving a hour worth of reality about how Cade has struggled up to this point. Film study they used was the Kentucky game and the spring game. Also observations about the Oline struggles Coach Luke inherited. I hate to say it but they give some sobering yet I think fair critique of the Clemson offense. 🙁

What concerned me the most when I watched that video was the routes that the WR's ran on a lot of plays. Either they were running non-catchable routes or sometimes ran routes that made no sense at all.

Yeah from day 1 when he was stuck in last gasp after DJ had stunk it up and Dabo had waited and waited and waited Cade came in and tried frantically forcing everything on every play. I kept thinking when he starts a game and someone with experience gets in his ear and tells him “Hey, we can live with no score going into the half just fine but we absolutely cannot turn it over and pick 6 it in the second quarter because you are anxious and forcing it” that he would settle in, but he never quite did that. Ship and Mafah put the W’s up last year but Cade has to settle down and just manage the game if he wants to play here or anywhere🤷♂️

Kid is a different player when he is outside the pocket.

Based on our OL, I’m thinking there will be some bootlegs and rollouts and called qb draws built into the plan. Cade is fast enough to be a weapon and better outside the pocket anyway. Im afraid our OL will get wrecked against the UGA DL straight up.

No doubt. I can’t even count how many times Stellato was wide open and didn’t get the ball only to get the ball next time on a high throw and a defender ready to blow his rib cage up….. Cade will make the offense go or stall

Cade was never a prototypical pocket passer. He panics, doesn't make his reads, and doesn't trust his eyes. I think this is a "make or break" year for Cade.
