These are the guys DW4 is throwing to with Texans 2nd team

DeAndrew White, Riley McCarron, and Evan Baylis
Tough to make your claim for the starting spot in practice with these guys as your weapons. Hopefully as camp progresses, he'll get more of an opportunity to work with the first team guys.

When he is more successful using these guys than the projected starting QB is with Nuk and Co., then the coaches will know what to do.
Just a glass half-full perspective.

White had 500 yards and 4 TDs his senior year at Bama. Not too bad.

Might as well start with John McClain and work from there.
How can you call yourself a beat writer when you haven't even seen the latest viral tweet from the team you cover.
Good grief.

http://www.houstontexans.com/news/article-2/21-observations-from-TexansCamp-Day-7/278187de-5d09-4fd8-8aff-257ac2d11287
From the article ---
14. The best drive during the day was the number two offense, led by Deshaun Watson, taking the team down for a touchdown. Watson threw a touchdown to Chris Thompson in the back corner of the end zone to cap an eight play (I think it was longer, but I missed a play or two) touchdown drive.
15. Watson worked the pocket on a throw for a first down to Thompson on the play prior. He was sort of enveloped in the pocket by the defense but he jumped, slid and moved into a spot where he could make a throw to Thompson. It was masterful footwork in a small space.
16. I don’t really know how to describe defensive tackle D.J. Reader. Executive Vice President and General Manager Rick Smith told us he was a better pass rusher and overall player than even he anticipated but man, that young man is a spinning, dodging, dancing, whirling dervish inside. There was a guy who tweeted to me last year wondering why Reader didn’t sack the quarterback more and I told him, he was impacting the pass rush more than it appeared. He showed during 1-on-1s that he’s ready to take another step as a complete interior player, not just a nose tackle.
18. Watson finished the day with one of his best throws on the day to tight end Evan Baylis for a touchdown at the end of the final team drill. We had a ringside seat as the offense was moving toward the end zone right in front of us. Thing is, I never saw Baylis in the route but Watson did and threw a strike right between the 8 and 1.

Good lord they are professional wide receivers. It's not like he's throwing to walk ons on the scout team.

They are all Rookie undrafted free agents except for one

The last of Watson's weapons that I failed to mention is Chris Thompson (another undrafted free agent). I guess technically you can call them pros, but the who knows if any of these guys will even make past the first cut day.
I don't think it's a stretch to say that Clemson's 2nd team WR group while he was a Tiger was more talented than the guys he's currently working with.

How is it Kool-aid when every Clem WR the last 4 or 5 yrs

that has stuck with the program and played significant snaps for us has made an NFL roster (not a couple of guys, but I repeat every guy) and mostly have been significant contributors on teams.
I'll take that precedence all day over a bunch of other rookie undrafted free agents in which we know by the numbers that 2/3 of them won't even make the team. I can guarantee you that Watson's not throwing to anything resembling Deon Cain (our 2nd team WR last year) in camp.

he is their future. They traded up so why throw him out there when they have time for him to absorb the offense.
