Extra long addition.
Saturday, May 17. Load up and head to the airport for a week in Iowa to celebrate Sharkgirl's brother's 50 birthday. No issues with the flight, ate dinner at her Parent's house.
Sunday, May 18, I paid for the family to go to an Iowa Cubs game. Nice little park they have there, far better concessions that you see at a Drive game. The when went to a dive bar called the High Life Lounge. This was like a museum of old beer advertisement and I loved it.
Monday, May 19, Not real sure what we did. A lot of sitting around.
Tuesday, May 20, His Actual birthday, brunch with extended family and some degree of running around.
Wednesday, more of the same
Thursday, flew home, again uneventful.
Friday, took the day off to get the grill deflector recall work done on my truck. Not sure what else I may have done.
Saturday, 1 one year old's birthday was the highlight.
Sunday, watched the Clemson baseball game go about like I thought it could due to pitching depth, then off to a beer share. Thought about old Odin a lot since it had been a month...
Monday, bought new furniture. My chair is from 2009 the couch from 2010. Since we knew the cat wasn't long for this world...for like 2 years...we waited on the furniture

You weren't even in the crowded part.
I was really hoping for more stories about how high your fever was from the Malaria or Dengue fever you contracted.
"more people than you thought"..did you think you'd be alone??

Took Mrs Pabst and Grandma Pabst up to a nice house above 4800' in Banner Elk. Had great weather up until yesterday. Rainy now but will 100% come back to this house.
Now I pray the roads hold to get back to CLT.

Went downtown for Gears and Guitars. Nephew came down to ride. Hadn’t seen him in a couple of years. Family gathering around the fire pit later in the night. The rest of the weekend was running errands and dodging rain drops.

Went to Brevard on Sattidy for the White Squirrel festival (for the record, no white squirrels were seen). Had a nice lunch a a place called Square Root, including some adult beverages. Wifey spent too much $$$ on candles, earrings, etc. Did have a cocktail or 3.
Made a dee-lish peach and greens salad on Sunday.
Watched the girls choke and the boys get butt whooped.
8/10 (15.2/19 on the RH Covids scale) with deductions for poor diamond play.

Thursday, went to see Tommy Stinson of the Replacements do a solo acoustic gig at the Thirsty Beaver. Friday, went to see some folks we know play at Mrs. Tig's favorite local joint, so had great food, great tunes, and still got home relatively early.
(every day is) Saturday, errands, chores, fired up the charcoal grill and did chicken drumsticks, peppers/onions/mushrooms, and potato wedges. Mrs. worked her shift at the park until noon like always, but with overflow holiday weekend attendance and staff shortages, the called to see if she would come back and work from 2-6 so I knew we were done as far as trying to go anywhere.
Sunday, Truckstop Preachers at the Thirsty Beaver, band started late, finished late, and we stayed well past that.
Monday, cold and gloomy all day, I pretty much killed the entire day watching Band of Brothers, which is NOT a documentary about Hanson.
18.99/19 Covids because I feel like I have to deduct at least something for watching that much TV in one day.

demarcation even though your individual watching has wanned. If you look at a Phillies schedule and they aren't playing, that tells you it is either Monday or Thursday.
Once the NBA gets out of the way, knowing if it is an AEW day will be easier.

It was much like every other weekend except stepson gone to his cousin's house. Still wish he would stay gone. That's the way it is. Sure it will offend some, butt then you don't know the jerk. His welcome wore out a long time ago. Even his sister knows. The Tigers ran out of pitching. The Braves ran out of offense except Acuna. Today is ribs days.

Daughter played her first 16U tourney, they wanted to play up to get the experience. 1-2 in pool play and finished second in the Silver Bracket. Took ALL DAY LONG, but was fun. Unfortunately, in the finals of the silver bracket, they couldn't keep up with the older girls.
I nicely mentioned to the director that they need to remind coaches that they can only coach between sets and during timeouts. And under no circumstances should they get involved in fault disputes, etc. The coach of the team we lost to in the Silver finals apologized to me for doing that, but his version of what happened was not accurate. Our girls called them for an illegal set. We got the point. The other teams coach stepped in and said it was a legal hit (it wasn't). He was a giant #########, coaching between points the whole time, taking extra time in timeouts, etc. There is no official ref there to police him, just whatever team is assigned to ref which was the team that previously lost so they weren't going to say anything. But that didn't change anything, we still lost to them.
Sunday lazy day, hit up the pool for about 45 minutes.
Monday lazy day. Youngest had sand soccer practice for a tourney this weekend. Cool sport, his first time trying it, going to be a fun weekend hopefully.

with the partner. BUT, we played 6 matches in 16U. There were around 16 teams in our division. maybe 10 in 18U and 6 in 12U. Then the 14U girls showed up and there were 24 teams in that division. I know there is an economy of scale, but having refs out there for 8 matches at a time, from 8AM until 6PM is a hefty ask, not even sure if those refs exist. And this is a small tournament.

PREACH. Paying to go to a volleyball tournament that you paid to get into

is one of the things that pis>ses me off the most.
Our Indoor club hosts two tournaments in Rocky Mount. THEN they hit us up with $40 each weekend passes, so I have to stay in a hotel in Rocky Mount because too far from Wilmington to drive, use my dues to host a tournament, then get hit with $160 in "tickets" so we can watch her play.
At least soccer hasn't had a charge yet at any tournament.

Fri - I'm good at Golden Tee. Shot 16 and 20 under, left some shots out there
Sat - got exceedingly drunk watching Orlando City win, then went to the bar very close to my house that I never go to because... well a Motley Crue cover band was there. Should tell you everything you needed to know
Sunday - swam with other MSynan and youngest daughter
Monday- worked 8-2 then swam with other MSynan and youngest daughter
I do have to admit I like the Crue song Red Hot, so 17/19 COVIDS. Still, exceedingly mediocre

Friday...took day off. Piddled around house. Don't remember too much.
Can't remember what teams played when, but watched CU softball and baseball games.
Saturday...grocery run...daughter-of had driving class all day and then had fraund spend the night. Grilled out ribeyes with chimichurri sauce that were excellent.
Sunday...made a great breakfast, church, then took daughter and fraund to Cheesecake factory and then let them shop at the mall. Fun was had by all. Crappy weather so didn't get to swim.
Monday...grilled hotdogs for lunch. Raining most of the day, so stayed in a watched TV. Was overall relaxing.

But a buddy called late Friday night and asked me to help him run his charter between Dewee's Island and IOP marina when his first mate called in hungover early for Saturday. He mainly runs back and forth to the docks ferrying rich people to their houses on Dewees Island, so the tips are always fat. As usual, we ran past some idiot in a jon boat with too many people on it on the ICW (kinda like being on a moped on I-26, amiright?) Seems like every time I'm out there, there's always some googan who thinks everybody needs to get out of their way because they are scared of everything, gets in everyone else's way, and doesn't know how to drive a boat.
My buddy had to go take a shid so I took the wheel and because its such a boring run, I just started plowing the boat, making some waves to watch dolphin come up along side. Capt Moron in his jon boat starts flipping me off and yelling at me because that little POS boat he's in looks like a bobber in a Cat 5. If homey knew anything he'd go 90 degrees into the wake rather than just sit there and get sloshed around, but his wife was yelling at him and his kids were crying, so he was just being d!ckless.
I saw him later when we came back to the IOP landing, and he was still whining about something, and it looked like he was yelling at his wife and kids this time; whatever. What an idiot. Didn't matter, I couldn't hear him. Man, sucks to be that guy's wife and kids.
Left early after making $600 bucks and went to the Dinghy for a beer to get rid of my all day hangover.
Later, worked on my boat and finished up changing out the anodes in the engine, and enjoyed the nice weather. Drove the golf cart to Red's on Shem Creek to watch the chit show, and boy was it ever. Not sure how every boater out there didn't get a BUI. Maybe that guy in the jon boat from earlier was hammered, too. Might explain why he was acting all crazy, I dunno. Told my wife i was so glad I didn;t put my boat in on Memorial Day weekend. Doing that around here is craziness.
Started raining Sunday and hasn't stopped yet, but I did get some running boards installed on my truck, in between rain bouts, so that was good.
