Cajun Seasoning Suggestions

Hello fellow American men. I have come to you with a question. When making a cajun meal, do you make your own spice blend or do you use a store bought spice blend?
I went against my better judgement last night and just used Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning and it was almost inedible with all the salt. Maybe that is me, maybe I am just not used to all the salt that normal people consume, but it was borderline trash. Wife and daughter added a TON of tomatoes to just cut the saltiness. Side note, I used zero salt when making rice, chicken, veggies, etc, only the Tony C's.
You got a go-to Cajun Spice blend that isn't so salty you need a gallon of water to eat anything?
Slap Yo Mama? Zataran's?

Too much sodium.
I always make my own for smoking and add a touch of sea salt about 30 minutes prior to putting it on.
1 exception for me tho is Old Bay on seafood and fries.

This is some weirdo named Emerils creole seasoning

2 1/2 tablespoons paprika 2 tablespoons salt 2 tablespoons garlic powder 1 tablespoon black pepper 1 tablespoon onion powder 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper 1 tablespoon dried oregano 1 tablespoon dried thyme
I keep some semblance of this made up for jambalayas, etouffees, etc. mine usually has more cayenne and sometimes I make it with Aleppo pepper…which is nice. Making Cajun food in a pot, always start with cooking down the trinity and don’t skimp on the andouille…get the good stuff.

I've made my own following Emeril's recipe, but I also keep a jar of this on hand at all times. They make a salt-free version, too.
https://www.savoryspiceshop.com/products/cajun-blackening Cajun Blackening This seasoning is so tasty that whether you do a lot of Cajun-style cooking or not, you'll find many ways to enjoy it. Use as a blackening or all-purpose seasoning. Read our blog post by Savory Spice founder Mike Johnston for more information on how to make classic blackened chicken. Also try on fries, burgers, steaks,

make your own.
Also the marketing on tiktok is a scam as well. You don't need that much seasoning on everything. They show them putting all of that seasoning on it so you will use the bottle faster and buy more.

I used chicken last night.
Cook brown rice season, cube and cook chicken in a pan slice, season, and cook orange bell pepper, zucchini, and onion in pan. combine all three with more seasoning.
Other than waiting on the rice to cook, it is a good quick meal for nights when soccer lasts from 5:00 - 7:30. Can't do fast food every night.
I've done it before with other seasonings and it has been great. Sucked last night.
