Travis Perry

Long time Greer football legend Travis Perry died today after a 3 yr battle with cancer. Travis was the quarterback of a Greer High team that won a state 3A championship then played collegiately at Newberry before returning to Greer High to teach and coach. He was athletic director at Christ Church Academy as well before coming back to his home town again as teacher, coach and athletic director. He was a tremendous positive influence in the lives of many young people for whom he was coach, teacher and mentor. He will be sorely missed in our community here.

I’ve known Travis since we were kids. He will be missed. He had a rough battle.

There is a Clemson connection here too. His daughter is a student and her boyfriend is an athlete at Clemson.

Travis was a great man !!! Greer and the South Carolina High School Football Coaches will miss him. His daughter dates Elijah Henderson from the Clemson baseball team.
