son’s house to wash clothes- got there & he asked us to go to his back yard to see his storage shed that was crushed flat by his pecan tree. Got outside & he called to his dog who was lying in the yard/ had acted fine in the morning but she was dead. Tough seeing two young grandkids crying. One helped dig a grave in the corner of the yard.

Dogs become a beloved family member, and it's always hurts when you lose one. It's especially hard for children. so sorry for your families loss.

That’s awful, so sad. I’ve lost many pets and many people, and for some reason, losing a pet is harder for me. I’ve never lost a spouse or child so I don’t know that pain, thank God, but losing a pet is like your heart is being pinched by pliers.
I hope they find relief, acceptance, and peace after this loss.

So sorry to hear the sad news Clover .. the hurricane was devastating to the upstate. Greenwood and Laurens was hit especially hard. We (Greer) just got power back late Monday night. I’m from the “suburbs” of Laurens, a very small town, “Hickory Tavern”. I drove down yesterday, taking several generators and water to family. In the rural areas, if no power and on a well, you don’t have water. It looked like a war zone, with power poles down and trees tangled in the power lines. No power, no stores open and don’t see power being restored anytime soon with so many power poles down.
