Are you concerned for brain injuries? My son is still 39pounds wet at 5.5yo so football isn't exactly in the cards anyways, but it's the one sport I am refusing to even entertain. But, I don't know if I'm overreacting.

Then again, I also remember the screams of my friend after he broke his femur in a dog pile playing peewee football.

important. I think there is more awareness about brain injuries and overall fitness in most sports now. My dad played football at CU and has a whole host of back/knee/shoulder problems but would do it all over again.

Also, my daughter jumps a 1200lb animal over 3 ft fences at fast speeds sooo maybe I'm slightly crazy.

He could play rugby if he wants to tackle. You can definitely get injured, but there's much less of a chance of a catastrophic injury.

Youth football leagues have a cap on weight.

If he can't meet the max weight limit he can't play.
