As an old offensive line coach and 28 years as a head high school coach, I can say this kid has the power and foot quickness to be a big-time player. He is 280 now and will play at 300 by the time he is a sophomore. It is part of his family DNA. He will be one that we will be happy we signed. The Young family has character and integrity, and we will not be sorry that we got him from some smaller schools.

I get people being turned off because he’s a legacy recruit, but it’s not like he’s some unrated kid who has bo business on a CFB team. Also, it’s. Or like it’s our only 3 star OL recruit and Austin crapped the bed in terms of recruiting. I seem to remember this board drooling over themselves for a 3 star RB from a private school in Texas, regardless of the fact private schools in Texas are not good at football.

I don't care either way with the recruits. I honestly have enough faith in our coaches right now. They have earned.
But saying someone that doesn't have the same opinion as your or the coaches isn't worthy to be a fan is ridiculous.
Having conversations with people that have different opinions is what makes our own opinions stronger.
People like you are like the liberals trying to silence speech that doesn't agree with their views and it has gotten out of control.
I would much rather have a conversation or debate with someone I disagree with than a person that is un willing to hear the thoughts of others.

Yes, I have complained about the Oline, but I have never said anyone that doesn't believe the way I do isnt a fan, and that is the point.

Kyle was terrific, and his uncle Will (also good) coaches at my alma mater…but if this year has shown us anything. Poor talent doesn’t help the overall record much. OK..maybe a GPA offer…

Yes, I am a Daniel alum and a Clemson alum, so the commitment from Watson Young makes me happy. I also have attended many Daniel games this season and have made a point to watch the young man. Not one time did I see him miss a block. He is a relentless blocker who fit right in with the culture that Dabo has built AND the team will benefit from having kids like this on the roster. He's a leader!

As for football, I’m not trolling. I just think it’s incredible that as bad as our OL has been, Dabo & Co. still offer a guy with no power 5 offers simply because he played at Daniel and is a Clemson legacy.
Sadly, that’s classic Dabo and is part of the reason why we have declined as a program.
If Dabo hasn’t learned his lesson by now, I don’t know when he will.
This isn’t to take anything away from this young man. I’m happy for him and am sure he will work hard and represent our school well.

Just because he’s a legacy doesn’t mean he’s a player. Maybe he develops with the new o line coach and earns a role. I’ve seen more NR next to recruits names for 2025 class than 2010. Hint: we hadn’t sniffed a 5 star in years.
