Don't get me wrong, I love watching Cam patrol centerfield, but I really believe the shoulder injury is still affecting him and he'll probably need another surgery this offseason to clean some stuff up. I think it's affecting him offensively as well. I also wonder if the exaggerated Juan Soto squat on each pitch has not affected his mechanics at the plate and "trying to look cool" has changed his hitting. I've seen that both with me and with teammates when I was younger when we tried to copy the cool stances of the time period and started not hitting as well.

I have heard rumors that he does indeed need an additional offseason surgery to address issues that are still affecting his throwing. I can’t confirm if that is 100% true or just talk so take it for what’s it worth. Has anyone else heard everything like that?

Cam will be fine either way. What's more concerning to me is we only have one guy in the espn top 75 in our recruiting class. I understand baseball recruiting lags a couple years... so this latest class is his first real class. I believe it was just 3 that were top 500. That's worse than what Monte was bringing in. And I'm talking that actually came. So how is the 26 class looking? I know the last 2 cycles, we've been 4th or 5th in the acc, let alone nationally.

The 7 transfers he's brought in have largely been underwhelming. Granted, I think he gets more out of the kids than other coaches but still, as is every sport, it's the Jimmy and Joe's. Definitely a huge EB fan but it's time he starts recruiting better.

Class of 2024 had 4 top 250 players - Talen Bell, Tp Wentworth, Owen Anchors and Austin Jacobs. But guys like Anchors, Jacobs, Brendon Bennett, Castellani and Moehler were not PG showcase guys so do not have a grade. Who knows where they'd be ranked if they paid more money? They are all DUDES!

Bell and Wentworth saw action this year, that's it!
*Moehler got hurt and was projected to be Sunday starter - will be back and be in starting rotation eventually and be THAT guy!
*Bell will push for starting rotation
*Bennett has great stuff, hopefully gets healthy and will push for starting position
*Wentworth- EB loves this kid and is penciled in as next years CF. Not sure about his bat or if he becomes a PO or sticks as a 2 way?

*Castellanin should've had some reps this year at 3B, but didn't get any. Would have given more power and most likely less SO's than Paino, but maybe not as good defensivly.

*Anchors probably should've seen some OF time, can hit well and gives you great athleticism. Has power potential and probably could've given you everything you got our of RF while getting experience for the future.

*Jacobs can play a mean SS and hit! Probably should've seen some action this year at least during mid weeks. Was an FSU commit along with Bell. Could be rethinking decision???

There's no question. He has regressed offensively. I think the injury is still affecting his arm, his power, and maybe even his contact.

The speed to play Center with an arm to play Left.

I hope he can get healthy and show out.

Right now, his arm isn't good anywhere in the outfield. He can barely get anything on his throws. Really is a shame, because that was never the case prior to the shoulder injury.

Needs to improve a lot in the minors if he expects to reach the big leagues. Colleges kids hitting .300 with a .900 OPS are not that hard to find. His ball tracking skills are second to none but appear to be offset by below average arm strength.

To be affecting his power too.

Hopefully another surgery fixes everything

I've been wondering all year what that weird squat is when he is at the plate and takes a pitch. Also haven't seen one throw from centerfield that is not a sidearm loop throw to the infield. Not sure if that is due to his injury, but if he can't make the throws from the outfield, I don't think he will be drafted anywhere near the mid to late rounds, or even at all..

That being said, he does seem to come through in the clutch with amazing catches and timely hitting in multiple games. Hopefully whatever is holding him back, whether it is his injury or something else, will get fixed and he stays for another year to refine his skills so he can be a high draft pick after next year.

Not much movement in the latest ESPN update, Cam Cannarella up four spots to 34 and Dax Kilby up one place to 51.
