When you say, "Klubnik had a consensus 5-star rating previously," what exactly do you mean?
I understand "consensus" to be a general agreement among all the major services. This is clearly not the case when only one service [now two] reports as 5-star while all the others have him at 4-star. Granted, he certainly moves one step closer to a "consensus 5-star" status, he is not there yet--at least not by my understanding.
I am not trolling here, just genuinely confused by the language in this and previous similar write-ups regarding "consensus" 5-star status.

Definitions may vary, but I see "consensus" as equal to being that way in the 247Sports Composite, where Klubnik was already tabbed as a 5-star. They average out different ratings and it spits out a different set of rankings than their own ratings.

I would refer to that as a composite 5 star, not a consensus 5 star. In fact, I think that's what 24/7 refers to it as.

247 ranks him as a 5* in their rankings.
In their "composite" rankings (which uses an algorithm to combine ESPN, Rivals, and 247), they also have him as a 5*.
Cade is a 5* in 247 and Rivals, a 4* in ESPN. Therefore he is a "consensus" 5* and not a "unanimous" 5*

Really not trying to split hairs here, but the article stated that Cade "had a consensus 5-star rating previously"... as in BEFORE 24/7 bumped him to 5-star in their individual ratings. Meaning, T-NET was applying the term 'consensus' when only one service listed him as 5-star. Which promtped my questions as to T-Net's methods for reaching a consensus (i.e general agreement) among services that do not apparently coordinate with one another on rating algorithms. I assumed they were referring to 24/7's 'composite' rating.
I hold that the term 'consensus' should not be used at all in this case since no two recruiting services ever explicitly lend their consent to a competing service's ratings ( a necessary ingredient in a general agreement). But this is a difficult position to hold since the definition of consensus is far too ambiguous. At any rate, 1 out 3 does not a consensus make.

It's interesting that in the previous ranking of the 2022 recruits that there were 34 5 star recruits, now there is only 20. Considering that we have 4 commits in the top 30 is there any likely hood that they will all jump up to 5 star status?

ESPN, Rivals, 24/7 all likely spend next to no time evaluating high school players. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that the primary driver in a player star status has to do solely with the number and quality of the schools that have offered. And yes, given that ESPN has invested so heavily in the success of the SEC, they're absolutely going to make it look like SEC schools are getting all the best recruits by simply rating the recruits with multiple SEC offers higher. It's a self licking ice cream cone.

It is possible, But frankly I like his odds to come in and be an immediate contributor. Mukuba will hold one spot for two years more likely, but there isn't a current safety on the roster I like better. Still, if so the other two Safeties look pretty solid as well.
