Man I am excited! Riley has some skills we have been lacking

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Um, 2016 and 2018 ring a bell?

The Elliot and Streeter tenure:

2015: #4
2016: #1 National Champions
2017: #4
2018: #1 National Champions
2019: #2 (nobody was beating LSU)
2020: #4 (OSU dedicated their entire 6-game season to being us.
2021: #14

Streeter alone, 2022: #13. Improved in all areas. A missed FG from the playoffs.

Now ask yourself, what changed going into 2021?

Therein lies the answer to the slight drop.

Riley will have the benefit of a highly capable QB. Now, it's true the dude appears to be innovative and smart, but he couldn't done anything with the handicapped situation either.

* being should be beating.

OSU played 6 whole games (covid) leading up to our game. They dedicated their entire year to getting a shot at us, and it showed. No shame losing to a team of that caliber.

And too, there is exactly one team with more accomplishments in the CFP era than Clemson.

That's Alabama.

Thanks Tony and Brandon! Let's please stop beating up the dudes highly responsible for the best run in Clemson history and one of the best in the history of the game.

I know it not sexy but for us to be another ACC championship team, we have to be a tough, run first team. Ship, Mafah, one of the freshmen and Cade need to pound the ball to wear down defenses and open up the passing lanes.

Great ideas VC.

Hopefully Riley can enlighten the offense and ensure these special ideas come to life.

TE or BS at the helm.

You true coots might believe this guy since you've bought into all the other bs about him. The RBs and TEs are much better than you True Coots have given them credit of being.
Frustrating group of Coots even after all that Dabo has done for you. Aye, aye, aye.

I do apologize to the good fans here for lumping you in with the absolutely clueless and I will put my scouting ability with talent up against any of you at any time.

I could give examples and many of them where I've been right about players where others even the so called experts have been wrong, but that would take time and I have much work to do here. I have examples of reverse and I will admit I am sometimes wrong. At this point, also, I no longer care what most of you think.

Western my man, come off the ledge and put down the sharp pen. It's almost Friday, right? This is a message board and the only things expressed on here are OPINIONS. Let's be optimistic and excited about our new OC and give him a chance to do his job and develop these young men. I'm incredibly thankful for some new blood and some new ideas and the opportunity to take my family to Death Valley and see these young men play - Go Tigers!!!!

Don't hurt your shoulder patting yourself on the back...although you may be some rare form of football prophet, modesty isn't in your favor

Especially of note :

" With TCU last season, Riley’s offense didn’t feature the tight end and many wondered if Riley would take advantage of the Clemson personnel. The answer is yes."

Add one more tool in Rileys offensive package to an already explosive approach.
Particularly when Briningstool is that weapon.
His athleticism can not be overstated. He is basically an oversized WR. I'm excited to see how he and the others are utilized.

Just hit the passes over the middle of the field. That is all I want.

I know we have some question marks at WR and DB and maybe OL, but dang, it can't get here fast enough for me. There's still an awful lot of potential there.
