While I definitely hope that things work out and Clemson gets themselves into the best possible scenario with any moves--academically, athletically and financially. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR! Despite all things bad about the ACC's inability to "move up the food chain" for revenue, the other schools are fairly well distributed across the board in their own levels of success. Are the fans going to be happy come Football season when the schedule now has Alabama, Florida, LSU and Texas on it instead of Wake Forest, Ga. Tech, Syracuse and Boston College?? Obviously, the schedule would be MUCH more difficult to navigate with the W/L record...how long before the grumbling starts when 10-1 slips to 8-3 on a regular basis?? At a minimum, Dabo is going to have to alter his mindset on NIL to keep up.

we have a floor in the current ACC of probably 8-4 in a Clemson "bad year".
We're 6-6 or worse in a Clemson "bad year" in SEC.
Dabo's portal/NIL mindset has to change regardless of what conference we're in, but especially in the "better ones"

wont get us in the playoff if we did remain in the ACC (that's not happening--we are leaving regardless). Agree on your other point--we are going to have to adopt a bit to compete.

correct.....it won't get us to playoffs........

but that's also the "floor" for us where we are now and quite frankly that's why so many other fans still have "room" to justify that everything's great and dandy b/c we "had a bad year, but still went 8-4"........or "one turnover here/there/yander and we're 11-1"..........and so on....
I don't care what record people say we "could've" had last year..........we weren't remotely CLOSE to being a playoff caliber team and haven't been since 2020.
the mindset needs to be changed REGARDLESS of what conference we're in.

You must not have remotely followed the 2022 season. We were a bad QB day and 2 points away from the playoffs. You people and your DDS are becoming tiring. 9-4 is not where we want to be, but it is not a disaster.

this mindset of not thinking and watching for yourself runs rampant on here.
first of all, I was at every home game of 2022 along w/ most home games since I was old enough to walk.
second of all, go back and read.........I don't care what the record has been or "COULD HAVE" been the last 3 years. We HAVE NOT been a playoff caliber team since 2020, and we got our @$$ whipped in 2020 when we apparently were "playoff caliber".
In 2022 we were insulated by a bad conference........we go undefeated in conference and went 0-3 vs our other FBS OOC opponents losing by 21, 17, and a one point loss at home to a very mediocre USC team.
I've also heard how we were an Oline, QB, few WRs that can catch, and some turnovers away from being playoff caliber in 2023. Again, believe that if you want, but the bottomline is we HAVE NOT BEEN GOOD ENOUGH the last 3 years and every year it's a different combination of excuses.
good thing for your type of people..........we're in the ACC and have a floor of 8-4 so it can only be better this year.

is three losses in the SEC or B1G puts you in play for the expanded playoff. Or, stay in the ACC and almost have to be perfect to get in the playoff while getting paid $50M less annually.
There is a reason why the Clemson Admin is suing the conference. Clemson is leaving one or the other...not turning back now...

The B1G and sec will have 3-4 in the championship each. acc 1.... maybe 2. eff the second rate acc conference and their pitiful 'basketball first mentality' and crappy payout. LOL

When the new format starts in two years, the ACC gets two automatic bids.

As has always been said here on T-Net for years, and that is iron sharpens iron, well the same can be said about the teams that play in the strongest conferences playing against each other, and that is iron sharpens iron...

Would you rather be 7-5 in terms of quality but go 9-3 thanks to a easy schedule and not make the kind of changes you are alluding to...or have a few years where that 7-5 quality nets you <7 wins because the schedule is so hard and there's no doubt they need to make those changes?

I read the BIG10 will not add Clemson or FSU and that the SEC also denied both schools. Saying it looks like the BIG 12

If neither have made a public statement stating they don't want either school in their conference, that is just more unfounded BS, enough said!!!

They can’t say they will take them or they will get dragged into all this lawsuit mess. They sit back and see what happens. If neither offers FSU or CU sue them for collusion. The big 2 doesn’t want Big 12 to get stronger and challenge them.

In other words, the SEC and the Big 10 don't want to see it turning into a power 3. If that's the case, then the SEC and the Big 10 have already behind closed doors told Clemson, FSU, NC, and whoever else if they have a place in their conference once they have separated themselves from the ACC. The court cases are for these schools to leave without costing them so much just to pack up and leave. Is that basically what you're saying?

David that was a way way too rational and even thought out response. JK glad to see you are more a voice of reason and truth vs a carnival barker looking for a few clicks. Keep up the excellent work. I would actually like to see us and unc exit to the sec or b1g and have fsu twisting in the wind for a year or so before finally getting a landing spot.

there has been more media coverage of Clemson's July 12 hearing in Pickens County from the FSU media than the Clemson media. Thats not a bash against David or TNet or Clem. 247, etc......I just find it unusual that the Clemson media isn't more active on a subject that will be the biggest news in CLEM FB history.....

My guess would be the FSU media is throwing things against the wall to see what sticks so they can stir interest and get clicks. Much the same way the school has proceeded with it's exit of the ACC.
David and Tigernet don't toss out much insider info until after the fact, when the dust has settled.
TCI is more likely to put something out there as "you heard it here first" and they have claimed to have some "insider knowledge" that can only be revealed "at the right time". With that said, I don't think the info TCI has held back is ground breaking (confirmed landing spot, announcement date, etc.) Likely, nobody knows exactly how or when this will all shake out, but it will happen sooner than later.

I'm referring to just the lack of commentary or acknowledgment of the July 12. Very stark compared to FSU media.
