Clemson news release (+ video from Clemson coach Amanda Butler on Tuesday)...

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers women’s basketball team is set for its first road trip of the 2023-24 season and will be playing in Columbia against the South Carolina Gamecocks on Thursday, November 16. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. can be seen on SEC Network.

The Tigers are off to their second consecutive 3-0 start to a season. Clemson has won its games by an average margin of 28 points per game.

Amari Robinson has been a crucial part of the Tigers’ success this season. She’s averaging over 21 points and 7 rebounds per game, and is shooting 72 percent from the floor, including 60 percent from beyond the arc.

Point guard Dayshanette Harris has been elite at distributing the ball this season. In Clemson’s win against Charleston Southern, Harris recorded Clemson’s first points-assists double-double since 2007 (10 points, 10 assists). She currently leads the ACC and is seventh in the nation in total assists with 18.

In addition to the talent on this year’s squad, the Tigers have signed two new players to their history-making signing class this Wednesday. Clemson signed five-star guard Imari Berry, the number 13 player in the country per ESPN. Berry is also the highest-rated signee in Clemson women’s basketball history. The Tigers are also excited to announce the signing of Morgan Miller, a 6-2 forward from Minnesota who averaged over 12 points per game in her junior season.

CU is led by Amanda Butler who is in her sixth season at the helm of the Tiger program. She recorded her 300th win as a head coach in a 71-41 win on November 6, 2023 against Winthrop.

As a head coach, Butler’s teams have beaten the Gamecocks on six occasions. Clemson has a 33-34 record against South Carolina.

Kind of wish that this game was later in the schedule...like maybe in the NCAAT.
Thanks to their run under Dawn Staley, they have finally passed us in women's basketball head-to-head.
