He was walk on with no scholarship or even a spot in the starting lineup, except for DH. Unless someone else leaves he has no regular spot next year. Going to play and develop as a defensemen if he wants to go to the next level.

He is a kid playing a kids game.
Somebody offered him NIL to play (tampering?) elsewhere, then turn pro.
Many kids would make that decision. Sorry to see him go....
If he does not want to play for Clemson, then bye. Maybe it works out, but usually NOT!
We shall see. It will only bother me if he ends up a coot, or at Georgia.

its just the way its gonna be for a while until someone figures out how to regulate it. Changing the transfer rules was the perfect storm in all of this. There is no deterrent for tampering now with the immediate portal hopping. If they had to sit out a year this wouldn't be so rampant.
We need Elon Musk to be a Clemson fan or something to get our NIL endowments up.

We dont have alot of former players who made fat stacks in the MLB. Kahlil Greene probably made the most money as a MLB player, that or Brad Miller. Strider is only making 1 mil this year. 23rd highest paid player on his own team. This one is a head scratcher, Clemson family, wealthy family and you leave after having the best season of your life? If he goes to Fla like alot of ppl are assuming then Jack needs to pay a visit to Gainesville and break Sully's knee caps!

Breakout year after receiving scant PT as a freshman. Was probably gonna be 1 of the guys that Bakich was gonna build the lineup around. Add in the family ties, really hurts.
Wondering if case of hurt feelings over the Tennessee game & the lineup moves late that took him off the field. Or if truly NIL/tampering.
Would be even worse if he ends up going to SC, given that he was a Monte recruit.

I dont think you understand baseball and/or watched the game. We needed 1 out, EB put his 6'6 player who had pitched 8 2/3 stellar innings back at his everyday starting position. EB needed 1 out and wanted the best defense on the field. He didnt need a bat at the time.
You would be yelling if he took Grice out and we lost too. EB made the correct call and we just didnt get it done on the Mound as was the case most of the season.

He went to some kind of baseball academy in Lexington called P27 for high school as per his bio. I imagine his coaches there are in his ear

Hes doing EXACTLY that. For someone who has such deep family ties to Clemson its extremally puzzling and wonder what's truly going on in that locker room. Makes me think we may see just as many transfers leaving this offseason as we saw last offseason if not more.

Kids these days will QUIT on you in a heartbeat, they know nothing about loyalty bc they weren't raised to be loyal to nothing or nobody, and it's the results of a fast paste life, and allowing children to grow up way to fast.
Most of reading this now probably won't see it, but fast paste living and growing up before it's time is what will be the cause of humans destroying themselves along with the world they live in bc they will never slow down enough to do what's right for planet earth for it to survive. I believe that mankind is close enough right now to destroy our world, but I also believe that it will take another 30 to 50 years before we're at the point of no return to save this planet....

It felt like he was holding back some of his feelings about how he felt that the staff treated Billy this season. Every father has dad goggles and feels like their kid is the next Ted Williams; he in particular intimated that he didn’t think Billy was given a fair shot early in the year by a new coaching staff who “didn’t know anything about him”. I don’t know if that narrative is just a coincidence but obviously his dad knew this morning when he did the interview that his son was gonna be in the portal later that morning.

I hate saying this, but I truly hope that he falls neck deep in the Sophomore slump and he can't dig his way out of it. I could understand if he was dirt poor and had to make the change to help him and his family, but I don't believe that is the case. I think the kid let himself get involved with someone that makes their living by stealing what someone has that's better than what they have, but it wasn't worth earning or getting it the right way!!!
