This is interesting. Russia used an ICBM, with multiple warheads

for the first time ever, in combat.

Looks like conventional explosions, not nuclear. In a nuclear war each of these warheads would spread across a much wider area. Like LA, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, San Bernardino, Anaheim, Irving, Long Beach, etc. So one ICBM erases the entire LA metro area. We have these as well, btw. Not sure the third video is real (or the same), but the first two seem to be, so far.

So we send some ICMB's to Ukraine and they strike Moscow?

Am I escalating this right? Conventional warheads of course.

You can only fight a proxy war for so long. Eventually one of three things happens. Moscow gives up, settles for some patch of land and it's over. The war becomes YOUR war, as it spreads. Or Ukraine gives up and surrenders.

I think just about everyone knows Belarus and Moldova are next, and will be easier. Then that leaves WW3. And no matter what Trump thinks of NATO, Europe will live up to the obligations, US notwithstanding. Europe has lived the wars, they've lived the history that Trump is ignorant of. So they will respond. And that's the end of it.

Putin smells red meat with Trump. And he's correct to do so. Trump hates NATO and Europe. Sees them as freeloaders. And will treat them as such. So if Putin can count on Trump doing nothing more in Ukraine, and allowing Moldova and Belarus to fall, the door is wide open for the Baltic States, Finland, and others to fall. And by then, whoever comes after Trump will have a mess to clean up, as Germany will hold the line. Missiles will rain down on Moscow if Putin attacks a NATO state. Promise. Trump can sit and twiddle his thumbs if he likes.

I think it's brinksmanship and a negotiating ploy, basically. If I were to stick a finger to the wind and read the tea leaves my guess would be it probably signals that serious talks to end the war are probably close.

Russia apparently cannot win a nuclear exchange with Europe, much less with the US and Europe combined. Both sides would suffer horribly, but the reality - and I did a ton of digging around on this - is that large portions of the US and Europe would likely survive while Russia would vanish from the face of the Earth and they absolutely know it. They really have only two population centers of economic and political consequence - Moscow and St. Petersburg; our population (and Europe's) are spread out across multiple cities and towns. They have fewer and older ICBM's (though they still use MIRV's, as they just demonstrated), while we do not. But our strategic bomber and ballistic-missile submarine fleets far outclass theirs, plus we have (some) anti-missile defenses in Alaska and California.

If 10000 nuclear weapons measured in megatons are exchanged, the best place to be will be one of the blast zones. Not a world anyone wants to live in.

ICBMs are 1950s era dumb rockets. It's just to show that they could nuke all of Kyiv, if they were stupid enough to do that.

I would say send them some tomahawks, but from what friends in the know are saying, the storm shadows are much better.

Nah, the Left should stop their recliner/TV war and we should just go ahead and launch the nukes on Russia and see what happens.

to prove the point they wanted to make, they kept the targets limited. But this was definitely an ICBM with multiple warheads (conventional).

Trump doesn't take office for two months and is already being blamed for a war that started, and has escalated to the brink of a nuclear conflict, on the Dems watch. Must be nice to be completely incompetent and have morons willing to believe its the guy who isn't even in power who is at fault. Don't ever change lefties.

I thought he talked to Putin on the phone and resolved the issue, Is that what he promised, he would end the war in 24 hours once elected?

Putin knows not to mess with Trump. Trump is extremely hard on Putin. Putin fears Trump. Everyone fears Trump. Trump is strong. Trump will stop the war within 24 hours. Ukraine and Russia will have no say.

contained North Korean and Russian military commanders. They fired over a dozen Storm Shadow cruise missiles. ATACMs have been used as well over the last few days against troop concentrations and large ammunition storage facilities.

Interesting that they are going after North Korean troops and commanders. Sounds like a good strategy as Putin and Russia don't care about them and surely Kim Jung Un was hoping experienced battle hardened troops and commanders would be returning home better prepared for a fight instead of in coffins.

These decisions will give Trump greater leverage to help broker a peace agreement.

and you quickly realize how dangerous it is to do this kind of launch. We are one moment of a single man’s nihilism from it happening.

Our SBIRS early warning satellites sees the ICBM in a tenth of a second after launch and the President has to make a decision, sole authority, in six minutes to launch counterstrike on warning.

Terrifying to think about Biden and his staff figuring out what to do when they are notified of this launch.

03:50 mark talks about it.

I read this book very recently. The scenario she gave was North Korea for whatever reason launching at us and then the ensuing cluster that very rapidly spun completely out of control.

It is very concerning that we are on such a hair trigger and to learn that the Russian early warning system is faulty and that in the past, weather phenomena triggered their system so that it appeared we had launched a limited attack. Fortunately the Russian officer chose to ignore this and did not call his higher ups immediately. Otherwise, most of us if not all of us would be dead.

It is absolute madness that we are literally within minutes faced with obliteration and that this could occur due to a mistake.

At a minimum we should provide the Russians with the same upgraded early warning systems.

This launch of an ICBM if that is truly what it was is a significant provocation. What if multiple ICBMs had been launched, would Britain and France sit tight waiting to see what was on the end of the missile?

The world is not in a good spot. Everyone should read this book.
