I’m qualifying this with Dabo has earned the right to do it his way. It’s sarcasm. He’s angry that Dabo won’t take portal players. I see his point. It’s possible to land a high caliber transfer with great values. For example, some kid who had to go the junior college route because his family didn’t have division one money and his skills weren’t there yet. They blossom in JC and become one of the best in the country. They want better exposure and hit the portal. Context matters. Every kid that hits the portal isn’t a greedy pos without loyalty like Dabo and TNet claims they are.
Not using the portal is taking away one of the most effective recruiting tools. We are handicapped. We once had an advantage of a program winning two natty’s in short time. Recruits have seen teams can transfer themselves to a Natty. So, it’s harder than ever to win. Duke trounced us. With eight transfer starters. FSU wasn’t in the same zip code. They were one injury from their first Natty in two decades. Thanks to the portal.

To clarify, I think Bakich is great and he’s doing an outstanding job with our baseball program. I’m glad he’s our coach and am thankful he is using the transfer portal to improve our team.

The wake guy didn't pitch much there. Maybe he was behind better arms. It will be interesting to see how he develops at Clemson because he has time to do some good things with this opportunity.

It is in response to the fans who say that we shouldn’t add football transfers because it’s unfair to the current players and will ruin team culture. These people often stereotype transfer portal players as selfish and damaging to team culture.
It’s a ridiculous opinion.
I think it is great that Bakich is using the portal. It is a logical way to improve the team.

I assume you’re intelligent enough to understand cognitive dissonance
That is what is happening with Dabo and his strong morals and beliefs.
His morals and beliefs involve modeling young guys into men, of course passing along his faith and wisdom, loyalty to his scholarship players, etc.
I doubt that Dabo will change his approach and bring in more, not because “transfer players are thugs” or anything, but because he would feel like he is not abiding by his own beliefs.
And that is when you lose yourself as a coach. If Dani cannot run this program under his faithfulness, I do not believe he will be coach here.

That’s because he was behind all world pitching. He was a freshman and hadn’t earned his spot yet. When he did pitch, he was lights out. The kid is a legit blue chip pitcher.
