I think it was more like the mid 60s. Was this the same as Newton's Shoes? I'll bet you could get Bass Weejuns for $16.95 or less!

I well remember the shoe store from the early 60s. It was up the street from Nick the Greeks bar. Remember that one? ONLY place in town where you could buy a beer. Those 14 ounce Old Milwaukee’s for thirty cents were my favorite. My how times have changed!

Wasn't this place a music store in the late 70s, early 80s. I believe it had a fire in 81 and they had an awesome fire sale of their albums. I got 20 albums for $20 that day, my favorite was..

Cobbler is a lost art! There are very few around and they “see you coming”. There is one in Hickory that I went into last year looking for the right length of boot laces that I couldn’t find and they had them. Twelve bucks a pair! Still looking for them.

There is West Lee Shoe Repair in Taylors SC near the corner of W. Lee Rd. and Wade Hampton Blvd. Good old fashioned service and reasonable.
