Been a lifetime fan, just didn’t know about it before. Always was on tigerillustrated or cutigers. Glad I found TNet and many of the great personalities and fans of Clemson .
But has the intelligence of tnetters went down over the last couple of years? I realize we all may have different takes on issues and things. I embrace the different ideas of others.
That being said, some people just either have poor reading comprehension or just ignorant. As an example, I have not seen a poster who is criticizing Brownell and the team this year. Yet certain posters keep trying to troll football posts and others accuse people of being in the lunatic fringe.
Football has fallen a little, but changes are being made and the future is still bright. Basketball is doing well right now. The ACC was/is down compared to the past. It doesn’t matter the reasons for it. It just is not the top anymore. Nobody has stated they wanted Brownell fired right now, unfortunately his coaching history has had many inexplicable losses and failures. People are afraid to hope after 14 years of that, but no one who is a true Clemson fan wants to ever lose!!
Stop foolish talk and enjoy how well we are doing in every sport right now! Go Tigers

I am not saying I didn’t want Brownell fired many previous years. However, when Neff decided to keep him last year then I will support this team and its players.
Not sold on Spiller or Grisham not being replaced, for those who only think it is only about basketball

has taken in a lot of fans with unreal expectations. Maybe even turned old fans into fans with unreal expectations.
It's incredibly difficult to win any championship and the work required, just to compete, is tremendous! Anyone who has played and/or coached at any level will understand this.
Plus, people just love to complain and thank God for the internet! What history will call "the great complaint engine!"

If it's sunshine and rainbows all the time, you don't get Matt Luke and Chris Rumph. Criticism pushes people to change. Yea, you're going to get some unfair criticism's but that's just part of the game. Criticism in general though is key to success in anything imo.

And the fans absolutely have high expectations for the coaches, who are paid some of the highest salaries in college football.
The poster is right, some criticism is probably unwarranted. But who's to decide which criticism?
It's a sportsboard. Fans have differences of opinion sometimes, and thank God.

This is why we spend some of the most money in college football on coaches.
If the OP wants all the fan base to be happy with mediocrity and have low expectations, there is a college football team not too far away that might interest him or her.

Hold my PBR there PBT, I have been very vocal about we should fire Brownell for years. Being a smart educator, like yourself, you should know that and nowhere did I suggest we accept mediocrity in my post. I do however think we should get behind a Tiger team who looks pretty good and hope we win. How is this wrong and how is that in any shape or form saying I accept mediocrity?

Honestly, it is more humorous than anything else. All this is a game. I am more concerned with the head of the FBI saying their is flashing red lights everywhere in the US for terrorist attacks. All of this is just a pleasant distraction, but in the grand scheme of life irrelevant

Some folks have only grown up with the golden years. So they do not understand. That being said the state of CFB is extremely concerning.
Fans are really going to start getting disenfranchised and stop watching. This may even filter up to the NFL level unless changes are made. By this I mean, that we all probably watch a fair amount of games that have Clemson players in them simply because they have our guys. Ie. Jaguars and Bengals for example.
