The spread has some legs..

The line has moved from -3.5 to -7.. That's a pretty big jump. Should have opened at -7. The -3.5 line is a slap in the face to Clemson.
I know the canes are talented about beat the Tigers, but nothing has shown my season-to-date that Miami is on the same level as Clemson.

in over four decades but it seems as if the line moves, reflecting Vega's need for balance on the betting.

Heavy money flowed in on the Tigers at the open of the -3.5, pushing it to -7. Sharps will wait until it moves another half point or so against the Tigers and then hit it hard for Miami. They love a line with a nice amount of movement

The "early money" is usually the sharps. They were all over the line at -3.
The professional bettors, anyhow, did not think Miami can hang with Clemson.

Indeed. But then they'll come back the other way once the line is high enough and hope to arbitrage it both ways. Look what happened to everyone who got "no actioned" on Mich-MSU at -4 but still made money at MSU +8

I can see why some believe this could be a close game @Miami

Miami's 4-0 at home with wins over Nebraska and VT. Both of their losses have been on the road.
This season, we're 1-0 on the road, and in that one road game we squeaked by Louisville with a 3-point win. Obviously things change year-to-year, but last year we were just 2-3 on the road. In the two road wins, we beat BC by 4 points and we defeated a terrible Wake Forest team by just 14 points.
Miami last year was 5-2 at home and just 1-4 on the road. Included in that home record was a 4-point loss against FSU.
I think we'll beat Miami by double-digits, but it's obvious Miami is a much, much tougher team when they're at home.

We have a great D... they don't (not ranked in the top 50). I think we triple the spread and win by 21
