I know you will let me know if you have, but anyhow...
Mrs. PAW is now positive (she knew, it was just a matter of time until she got a positive test) and our primary care doc, who was not open on Monday when I needed him of course, just needed a positive test and they will automatically call in a Paxlovid ###### for you. That's easier than urgent care. By a lot.
Also, in cancelling my appointments for this week, a recurring theme has been, "yeah, it's going around".
lil'APM and his roommates think they might have it down at Elon. lilAPMette was exposed and missed a couple of things up at Penn, but so far, not sick yet.
PHUQUE CHINAH. For real.

Once kids go back to school, everyone get sick. That's just how it is.
My 4th grader has had a cough since the second week of school and it's still going on. I have it now too with a sore throat.

I did at the height of the Pandemic
Reaction have ranged from a slight cough (mom) to a mucusy snot nose and cough (boss) to a 105 deg fever and severe aches (16 yr old daughter of friend)
I’ve been exposed 3 times in the past week and so far my dirt eating youth is still paying dividends

I’ve been exposed seven times in last three weeks. I’ve probably been exposed 100 times over past couple years. I haven’t been sick, not counting hangovers, in a few years.
I’m fairly convinced that if you boost your BAC high enough, it kills off the virus and a bunch of other stuff (not counting STD’s). There really is no other explanation.

Some people swear by it.
And as Willie Nelson once sang, there's more old drunks than there are old doctors.

Well, as a house of 5, with three kids in preschool

elementary and middle schools, each time it comes in the house, we all get it. First round (probable Delta), one son, oldest in middle school at the time, didn't get sick, so 4/5 there. Next round was OG Omicron in 1/22. 100% got it. Me first, oldest son next, then wife, mother, middle son and youngest son (Christmas superspreader event- inlaws, everyone basically). Took a good 3 weeks though for everyone to get sick. One fell every 3-4 days. This past January I had it actually pretty bad. Fever, chills, lost taste and smell, cough, fatigue, the works. We all got it then too, 100% (5/5).
Through all of this I tested myself probably 20-25 times. NEVER POSITIVE. But I got sick each time right along with the rest of the family. So just know the tests are junk for some people. My mother also has never tested positive. Must be genetic, who knows.

Two of mine still ain't caught dat ish.
I do think Mrs. PAW and I had it in February 2020 before it had a name, testing, etc. My PCP was pretty sure it was Type A influenza but the flu test was negative. Hit HARD, way worse than a normal virus, so I have always thought it must have been COVID.
That said, this stuff I have now, which I know to be COVID, does have quite a few different symptoms than anything else I have had - loss of taste & smell, weird sore throat, and for a while chills & sweat WITHOUT an actual fever, until Monday, when I had a fever of 102.
Again. Let me reiterate. PHUQUE CHINAH.

Omicron was interesting because I got sick a week before Christmas. And that was less than a month from when it was discovered in South Africa.
Really none of the illnesses have been bad for anyone. Our middle son had it bad this year though. Fever for about 6 days, off and on, kind of like mono. I actually had it comparable to the flu this past time. Worst so far, and still a milder flu at that.
Honestly the worst part is the fatigue and brain fog you get several weeks later. That #### is real. And then watch out for infections for several months afterwards. I worked right through every covid illness (from home), and didn't miss a beat. Took a day off this most recent time mainly due to the fever and bad cough. But the brain fog and fatigue that sets in 2 weeks or so later probably cost me more work lost than the illness. If you have a high pressure job with a ton of work, and have to juggle 300 things every day, well, it has a big impact on productivity there, or did for me.

Tropicals preventative measures include OJ, extra vitamin C, D3, and B12 plus one shot of bourbon

Mixed with walking and a weekly round of bad golf.
If it works _ great, if not then maybe more bourbon?
