Everyone bashing DJ and OC/DC

I have said it for three; I say again THREE, seasons: Our O line is BAD. TL covered up a lot on passing downs with getting the ball out quickly. But remember how even ETN struggled? Mafah can't get going because he needs to be run on toss and sweep plays to get going, because he's going to be hit in the backfield like, every play. Ship makes people miss a little and gets yards on his own, but DJ can not evade a pass rush and the line couldn't block a herd of toddlers. Bash DJ, bash Streeter, bash the WRs, but until the line can improve drastically we are going to suffer.

you rarely see a bad team with good lines. On the flip side, you never see elite teams with bad lines.

OL is bad at run blocking, they do a pretty fine job in pass pro. Now the run blocking imo is directly a result of a dated S&C program.

Could you expound on what the dated S&C program looks like and what differences a current program may have that ours is currently lacking?

Whenever you watch the power hour highlights these guys are doing deadlifts and squats. That's not a football movement or benefit a football player in any way. If you look at how the Clemson players do in the combine it is almost always disappointing. Why do we consistently see guys come in to Clemson and look slower when they leave. The team has lacked explosiveness and they don't get push when playing physical teams. Batson is the last of the Bowden Era and it shows, he's been here for 37 years.

You consistently see the OL getting blown up by smaller guys. ND just straight up lined up yesterday and said are you big and strong enough to stop us on both sides of the ball. The last 8 losses has been much of the same. Ohio St clobbered Clemson in similar fashion. Does not matter how good a scheme is if the players aren't strong enough to beat the man in front of them.

Strength and conditioning? Most runs are up the middle. Rarely does anything go outside the tackles.

Yea most runs are up the middle and most times they don't work when the OL is not getting movement which they struggle with. Shipley and Etienne can make a sliver of grass turn into yardage but there's usually not much of a lane.

While I understand what you're saying and we do need improvement, I agree our pass pro isn't bad. The book is out on dj and our playback, we don't make teams pay for crowded the line and teams know if you pressure dj, most times he'll not make you pay. I think we just have a qb that doesn't read the defense.
