I am!! They have a mobile QB and an aggressive O. Their D is just good enough to make Cade nervous and exploit hurt Mafah. If we can’t tackle and get guys on the ground- we are done.

All of college football does not give us a chance when we lost 2 games at home. However , we did beat VT and Pitt on the road. We played GA in the first game on basically their home field and we don't usually play well in first games on the road unless we have Championship teams like the 2018 team that beat Texas A&M on the road in the first game. So, maybe we have a second chance to prove ourselves against a good team. GO TIGERS !

I am concerned. Our offense couldn’t score more than 14 against the gamecocks no matter how many times the defense gave them the ball. Holding any team to 17 should equal a win. Not with this offense.

If we have the same offensive game plan we have had for 4+ years I think there is a good chance they take us unless the defense is like +3 on turnovers then it would be really close.
Let Cade cut it loose THE WHOLE GAME and I think we would have a good chance. But I don't think there is a good chance of that.

Agree. I have felt for awhile that SMU is the best team in the conference. They are the Florida State of this season because of all the portal players they have. I hope we can upset them but we are not the team of a couple years ago coaching and talent wise.

I'm actually not. I think it will be a good game. Vegas basically has it a pick 'em game and those guys are pretty good in their evaluations.

We can’t take the players we need on the field( S Brown) and keep the players on the field that need to be off(Mafha). Mafha would have had a better chance of being drafted last year. I can’t see him being drafted. I pray that I’m wrong. Need to use Haines more.

I agree. However, a beat down on national tv will be an example of Dabo’s program and coaching not evolving over time. He will not be able to just get by against smu. How can we develop players if we lose recruits and don’t use portal? Especially with 105 scholarship roster limits coming his walk on and kids won’t work. Smu is better period. Clemsons opponents are getting better just look at su! Clemson is at a crossroads. The college game is different now. Da o needs to evolve or move on.

No.
There is more upside than downside for us to be playing SMU in the ACC Championship game.
Our team has already embarrassed itself by being exposed as (apparently) unable to compete against truly good teams (Louisville and UGA). We can compete with pretty good teams like S.Carolina, but are as likely to lose to them as to win. Against the ~ better than average (but nothing special) teams like VA Tech and Pitt, we should win but are very capable of losing.
This is an embarrassing season for a team which, based on across the board talent + playing experience, should have not lost more than one game.
if SMU boat races us, then, sure, that will be embarrassing. However, if SMU just beats us (by not more than 10 points), then such a loss doesn’t tarnish our already marginally successful season.
In the other hand, we might win against SMU. They could make some game changing turnovers and we could end up beating them. If that were to happen, then the trip to CFP all by itself would represent full redemption for 2024 season.
