I remember watching Dabo lose his mind on stage after we won the chic-fil-a bowl, screaming "we too deep!" feeling like we just won the superbowl. Look how far our expectations have grown since then. We've reached elite status, a place I didn't ever imagine we'd be. We are the example for college football programs. The pain of last nights loss will haunt me for a very long time, but during spring ball, I was praying we would get 10 wins this year. It's amazing to see where Clemson Tiger Football is now. This was a "rebuilding year". There is such a bright future for this program, that's why I was not crying last night, like I was after the 2015 national championship. That night it felt like we came so close and would never make it to that stage again. A year later, Deshaun is hoisting the CFP national championship trophy. Now I am looking at the 2018 signing class, and my jaw drops. I know that we will be on that stage next year, and the year after that, and so on. I smile at the collage of Clemson sports illustrated covers on my walls imagining how many I will have 5 years from now. I smile at the thought of how many Championship trophies will be in the lobby of the reeves complex 5 years from now. Bama got us this time, but this was not a trilogy, this will be every January. I ask you Tiger nation, to smile today. THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
Really good stuff, I totally agree. Understandable for fans to be upset at things that could have gone differently. I can also understand that fans will second guess future happenings (stoudt/Watson-future position battles) with past mistakes. But all that is part of the day to day drama of college football. It’s a part of the draw, at least for me. We were a little young in key spots last night and it showed early and often. But honestly I am super exited about the state of the program.... Go tigers
