I think what he means is however the committee ranks the top 16 on their final poll is it. Maybe I'm wrong. But I do like his plan.

No chance, IMO, that something like this happens because it blocks the idea of getting every SEC team in. But it establishes a path that everyone knows how to get in and eliminates the manipulation from the blabber mouths on ESPN.

And one more thing. The games with LSU and SC, for example, still remain relevant for obvious reasons (wanting to beat them) and losing doesn’t keep you out, but winning helps get you a top 8 seed.

If there is going to be set slots for each conference, then the conference should determine the top teams for the playoff, IMO.
