Grish has to go

Since 2020 when TL left we have had exactly ZERO receivers break 605 yards in a season. To put that into perspective from 2010 to 2020 we had 2 seasons where we didn’t have at least 1 WR break 1000 yards. Those 2 seasons were the KB2 led 2017 team and the 2015 team when Deshaun and Gallman both rushed for over 1000 yards in the same season.
When did Grish start as WR coach you might ask? Oh that would be 2020. The evidence is d*mning for the case that he must be shown the door. We have no threats beyond 10 yards and that allows defenses to stack the box and take everything else away. This lies at the feet of Grish, he not only “coaches” the position but he’s also the recruiting coordinator responsible for getting who we have in the door. He should have been out with Streeter, and again with the purge last year. Why on earth he hasn’t been shown the door is so far beyond any sort of logic at this point

But I’m telling you, I will be elated but absolutely shocked if Dabo ever fires him. They are kindred spirits man and a Dabo loves him. You should hear them tell their story of how he came to Clemson at camps, if you have you would know what I’m talking about. Long story short, Grish camped at Bama when Dabo was there when he was a grade schooler. Followed him and camped at Clemson in high school, was the best looking WR in the camps to Dabo his senior year. Had to get permission from Bowden to offer him and gave him his only D1 offer. Then he coached him and he made the practice squad for the Steelers. It sucks but those two are bound together it seems.

That’s a great story, and I understand loyalty is big for Dabo. But at what point does loyalty to your school and your team supersede a nice hallmark movie? As I’ve said before, Neff needs to remind him where failing to cull problem assistants got his predecessor

His predecessor didn't have a 10-year contract with a $60 million buyout.

As usual, you are barking up the wrong tree. I know some things are hard for some people to understand, but you cannot compare the talent during Trevor's years and the last 3 years. It is not coaching by Grisham that is the problem, it is the level of talent in the WR room, the RB room and the OL room that needs to be better.

the deep balls, etc. suffered over the last 4 years, but so has the screen game. How many times have you seen a screen pass just get blown up because one of the WR' s whiffed a block. That's effort, not just skill and that should be coachable.

If only grish was in a place to, I don’t know, somehow influence the talent level we have coming in then? I mean it’s not like he’s the recruiting coordinator or anything. Why are you making excuses for him? He’s done nothing to prove himself and is a detriment to the coaching staff

.....but he doesn't need to be the head guy of receivers. He can be involved in a respectable capacity....but not the head guy when creating the weapons we need to have to be explosive .... create separation...etc ...
He can be Green beans 2.0

Your thesis could just as easily apply to every position on offense.

I firmly believe that Grisham is a big part of the problem...

I also believe that the only thing that saved him from being shown the door with Streeter was his brining in TJ Moore, Noble Johnson, and Bryant Wesco. For whatever reason, they're not seeing any significant playing time. These aren't the kinds of players who are going to sit. They'll hit the portal just as soon as the window opens.
