Trump was against EVs but Musk cut Trump a check so now he's pro EV and he accepted a Tesla truck as a gift.
Remember, it's all about doing EXACTLY what Trump says... even if that changes.

Here's the question, though: how does Donald make both Elon Musk and Big Oil happy?
Seeing as how their respective industries are trying to annihilate one another, I don't see how this works. Somebody's going to wind up very unhappy. And neither Elon nor Big Oil are patrons that Donald can afford to make unhappy.
I genuinely don't get this. Being a big proponent of The Future and renewables, Musk's natural ally was the Dems, and he's completely alienated them.

If the Dems were more sensible I think he would be firmly in their camp.

Instead, they have gone far left for the most part and alienated people like Musk.
A moderate Dem like Bill Clinton would win in November in a landslide. It will probably be a lot closer since it’s Kamala. Despite her attempts to sound more moderate now, I don’t think she will be able to convince the everyone.

Musk used his daddy's money to buy some companies. The engineers who work at them did the advancing, not him.

about running a private business (or capitalism for that matter). Warren is a lifelong academic turned politician whose shtick has become that of a rabid howler monkey flinging poo at the private sector people who create jobs, employ large numbers of people, that in turn pay lots of Federal income tax. One would think she would be grateful since she spends most of her time trying to think how to spend that private sector generated income tax money on leftist BS.
Why smart, and accomplished women like Gwynne Shotwell (who actually runs Elon Musk's SpaceX) doesn't receive more fanfare and recognition as a role model for girls/women is beyond me. But... I guess since Mrs. Shotwell is too busy actually working to make the human race a truly space-travelling/multi-planet species and not spending her days pushing liberty crushing leftist dogma - she's not worthy...

- bringing those Boeing stranded astronauts safely back to earth will be it.
I've got to admit that I'm a huge fan of Gwynne Shotwell. Every time I've watched her interviews I can't help but seeing a solid leader and someone that knows how to get shid done. IMO SpaceX is lucky to have her leading them and wouldn't be where they are without her.

You and I share the same opinion of Shotwell...and that sentiment extends to the US government and pretty much everyone who's had to deal with both her and Elon. Half her job is apparently convincing government officials and military brass freaking out about Elon's wonkiness that she's got stuff under control.
Elon's allowing - and even promoting - disinformation and conspiracy theories on X is already highly irritating to both the US and EU's governments...but SpaceX is something else altogether. It's absolutely critical to the West's strategic interests. Take, say, Starlink out of the equation, and Ukraine would lose the war tomorrow.
The bigger Elon gets, the more narcissistic and erratic he seems. And that's dangerous for him, IMHO. Everyone would strongly prefer Shotwell be the one calling the shots on SpaceX. If he continues to make himself a liability, I think it's extremely likely he'll find himself forcibly divested from the company.

The left despises and wants to destroy anyone they don't control. Now that Elon isn't carrying their water he's of no value to them and must be eliminated.
