Alot can change in the next 5 years.
I remember when Dems used to think Texas was going to turn Blue because of growth in the Hispanic population (ha ha ha ha ha).

True, but it's definitely not looking good. Dems definitely need to start adapting their message some.

They're already adapting. And by 2030, the fascist MAGA brand will likely be extremely toxic in an election....assuming we actually are still having elections.

I think the Dems should lose that talk. It hurts them in electíons. Sounds like they are full of shyt and are trying to make an issue to scare people. People just want the basic kitchen table issues talked about.

The census people will just "accidentally " over count every major blue state and under count red states so that the mass migration by normal people out of blue states isn't accurately reflected in the electoral college, which is exactly what happened in 2020. Any blue state losses they are forced to actually endure will be mitigated by left wing state legislatures gerrymandering their district maps to eliminate Republican seats. So if Cali were to lose two seats they'd just make sure the seats lost were Pub seats for a net Dem loss of zero. Any Republican who believes this nonsense is gonna lead them to the promised land should do some self reflection on being a gullible moron.

It's just that the electoral college will be different and it's going to be way harder for the Dems is the point, even if Trump continues to suck. I am talking 2030 and beyond anyway and not 2028.

That's if things stay the same...but they never do.
We're in the middle of a massive political re-alignment and I don't think anyone - least of all these implacably hostile dipsh!ts who think they're headed for permanent power (they aren't) - has any idea what form the future is going to take.
I do know this: JD Vance is not who the MAGA's think he is. Every bit of information we have on him suggests he's a political trojan horse put in place by Peter Thiel who is presently flying under false MAGA colors. What his exact politics presently are is an open question, but Peter Thiel is a big proponent of things like seasteading and the Network State...basically, a highly deregulated post-government America where the present functions of what we consider "government" are sublimated to a decentralized, voluntary subscription model of private corporations. And Thiel is as elitist as they come; he is absolutely not a MAGA populist. He wants to build cloistered neo-feudal communities of highly-educated elites away from the Unwashed Masses, he's as far as you can get from a "man of the people."
A lot of disparate groups that think there's no fundamental solve for our current democracy's inability to protect itself from weaponized disinformation (and think America's in its twilight years as currently constituted) pushed Donald not because they loved him but because he's transactional, buyable, and a disruptor. And IMHO, there's always been another unspoken context: not long for this world. One way or another.

It is still more complicated is the point, even with a great candidate. The electoral college is going to be different.

And no way the D wins there, but it will be closer than 5 points
The R doesn't even live in the District and doesn't play well in the sandbox. He was also outraised 10 to 1
He'll still win though

Because they are expensive and crowded. Just like the red states they are moving to will be one day.
