That's interesting as two national media sources and WIS TV are reporting that Herman has pulled his name from consideration and Smart of Bama is now solidly in the running. Fuente of Memphis along with Mullen of Miss. St. seem to be the front runners for Va. Tech.
All of these situations will likely change after Sunday, especially with LSU and Missouri now in the mix. As one writer indicated there could be as many as 30 (Thirty) openings!
Glad Dabo wants to finish the job he started here.

thank the Lord that our Administration was not this close-minded,
AND that the myriad know-it-all fans were ignored as well
when Clemson did its search in 2008.
There were a lot of those who thought HC experience was a qualifier.
I get it, but it turned out terribly wrong.
Dabo did not even have OC experience much less HC experience,
and look what he has accomplished.
Hitting the check boxes is a sure fire way to cover your #### in a search
but it also fails a lot...

Dabo may be one of a kind (of sorts) but that doesn't mean the way he was found isn't as meaningful as the any other search method.
In fact, the same method was effectively used to hire Danny Ford after Pell left.
Same method, two good coaches.
Different methods were used to find Hatfield and West, with lesser success.
The point is that the great leaders aren't identified by hitting check boxes,
and it doesn't sound like what's going on at USuCk will do much more than hit some check boxes to show the AD did his due diligence.
