All will be trashed for the lure of the 'dirty lucre'. Anyone who thinks we lose recruits now, just wait and see how hard it will be to recruit if we move to the Big 12. Now, of course, we lose recruits to both SEC and ACC teams but they also lose some to us. The reasoning is dead wrong that we should leave the ACC. Not only will we have no recruitng base in the Big 12 but we will lose much of the draw and appeal that we have in our present recruiting areas. Then our greatest appeal for recruits will rely our educational reputation alone. The surest way to weaken our athletics against others (including SC)would be to leave the ACC. Our history and traditions in football will be long gone.

Just write off recruiting anyone in NC, and any state north of VA. Believe it or not, Clemson gets a lot of points by telling recruits in NC they get to play UNC and NC State, they will get nothing by trying to sell those kids and parents on playing Texas or Oklahoma. Worse than nothing, that's actually a negative, and the remaining ACC and SEC schools will be happy to point that out.
Clemson is way behind the 8-ball with recruits in TX, OK and KS just because of location. I imagine it's pretty hard to convince a kid from IA to move to another time zone when they can just go to Iowa and play a Big 10 slate.
A terrible, terrible idea. If you guys love playing Texas and Oklahoma so much, just convince the AD to schedule a couple of non-conference games and get it out of your system.

Yeah, more TV exposure and better games and competition will make it difficult to attract recruits. Not to mention the facility improvements with extra millions each year.

Yeah nobody wants to play against great schools like OU UT. They just can't compete with Duke and Wake. If anything recruiting will get better because of the new exposure to Texas and the mid west. Keep preaching that garbage but you will see in the long run it will pay off.

How many Texas FBS schools are there? Like 11 or 12 I think. Yeah, TX recruits have no where else to play so they'll be dying to move halfway across the country to SC. That's going to happen.

There may be a few that only want lot play NC schools, but any FB player with aspirations toward the next level wants to face the best competition possible. The tie-in between the SEC & B12 leaves the ACC out in the cold.
I wish the ACC was tied into the SEC, but Swoffie blew it. The ACC is in real danger of being passed by and it has no one to blame but it's self for the lousy TV contract.

recruit TX well too. Morris has connections with the High Schools and Venables has been recruiting there for a while.
It's harder to recruit in a lower division than it is a higher division and while you may think the ACC is in the "higher division" they're not.
