So what's our chances in the next 4-5 games...

without Deshaun?
I say we win a close one at BC, beat Syracuse and Wake Forest pretty handily, and struggle with GT at their place (tossup?).
I think they will probably hold Deshaun out of the Georgia Southern game just to be safe, only put him in if we need him, which I don't expect we will. Hold him out and get him ready for the biggest game left in this regular season.
What do you guys think?

BC is the one that scares me...

GT is usually tough regardless of the teams. This year I think we kill them.
I think Cole will play better getting more snaps at practice.
Louisville's defense was very good.

Cole will come through. How many colleges would love to have him taking snaps. I think when he is on the move he sees more receivers. Staying in pocket he tends to zero in and dbs read his eyes. Maybe CM can figure this out, but doubtful.

We'll beat GT, they are soft. Coots streak stops this year, too

2-2 .. Concerned about stoudts continued shoulder pain

They won't run the QB with an injury and this helps other teams defensively. I don't see us beating bc. I think we beat Syracuse and wake. Ga tech is too far off. If Cole is healthy we have a shot, the injury is concerning.

Think about this.... Cole is a competitor and wants to play but he also saw Watson in practice and realized his performance had to be perfect to keep his job. So, he was always looking over his shoulder, waiting to hear Watson running behind him to take his job. That's a normal human reaction. Now, with Watson unfortunately hurt, Cole has an opportunity to play without fear that every single play is under scrutiny and the pressure that comes with that situation. I believe we see a relaxed and confident Cole Stout on Saturday. His career is winding down and he wants to do his best. Might be too simplistic for some of you to agree with but this is my opinion.

I totally agree. He now has that 1st BIG game that he owns behind him and he got the W.

I'm still thinking we win those games. Cole looked more confident down the stretch than he did when he was initially put in the game. He will definitely benefit from practice and, of course, knowing that he is The guy. He will continue to throw a lot of short passes and hand the ball off. Our offense is going to have a different persona the next 4-5 games, but I believe we still excel.

If we get past BC, I think we win all of the rest. We have Syracuse at home and Wake is really weak this year. Cole will gain confidence and we have the right defense, with our strong defensive line, to stop GT.

Where we stand at this point, IMO:

1) Enjoy yesterday's win, it is as good as it gets given the circumstances.
2) I said after the FSU debacle that we were not going to win out, and I still don't see that happening.
3) Cole Stoudt proved a lot to me yesterday. He did his best to overcome his ring rust and bad coaching calls. He gutted it out and I have a ton of respect for him, especially since he could have packed it in after they name DW4 starter. He didn't and we are lucky he didn't.
4) GT or BC would be the most likely to get a win against us, probably GT is more likely with their gimmicky, crappy offense. We have to score a lot to beat them and DW4 would be better in that situation.
5) The ONLY goals that really matter for the rest of the season are to get DW4 healthy and, most importantly, to BEAT THE FRIGGIN' COOTS!!!
6) To that end, I say do NOT rush DW4 back, let him heal until GSU, then ease him into the game and let him get his rhythm and be ready for a nice one-two punch for the coots!!! In the grand scheme, a loss to GT or BC or both do not matter. Beating the coots certainly does.

No need to rush it though. Just beat the coots.

You really think GT is gonna score a bunch on this D? Did you see this defense play yesterday? I felt I was watching an 80's CU FB team: strong D and ST and just enough O to get the job done.

May not score a bunch, but they will score and run clock

that's why you have to score quickly and often
their stupid O is always a challenge to prepare for and no fun to play against

Our defense will make up for what struggles our offense has. Cole was a highly touted QB coming out of high school. He'll be fine.

I think every game will be a dog fight from here on out. Wins will be ugly and rely heavily on our defense. We MUST develop a consistent run game to take the pressure off Cole, but with a pig-headed OC like Chad Morris, I doubt we do that. I see at least a couple losses before Watson gets back.

I see us winning out.... You have to remember yesterday's game was against a great defense.... I don't think GA Tech, Boston College, or Syracuse's defense will be better than Louisvill's. BC might be the only one left with any chance bc of there smash mouth D.... But I don't see an L the rest of the way.

I just think our receivers will give BC problems bc of our athleticism at WR.... We will get open a lot more on the routs bc our receivers will beat the secondary.

There is not a good team on the remainder of our schedule. If we don 't win out, it would indicate that our overall team is not as good as I think it is. Watson makes us better but we should be fine with Cole.
