While he expects a tight game I think it will be a wider margin of Tiger victory.
A stat I have keyed in on over the last couple weeks has been the yards loss allowed from tackles and sacks allowed.
Go and take a look at those two stats... if you're comparing all of OSU and Clemson stats those are glaring especially the sack count. It's a sign of OSU's susceptibility to penetration from the defenses they have seen. Roughly 20% more TFL and commesurate yards average. And nearly 3x (31 vs 13) sacks allowed by OSU. And that's against the best Big 10 defenses Michigan, Mich St, and Wisconsin in the top 20(btw Virginia, NC, & Charlotte are also in the top 20 for team sacks).
What this means is that OSU is vulnerable in a way that benefits Venebles 2019 defensive strategy. If they get penetration on OSU rushing and on Fields we can expect OSU to have a serious problem getting down field for Colin's supposed 30pts, which equates to 4TDs+2pts or 3TD+3FG. I don't see OSU getting either.
Going back to the OSU-Wis Big10 Championship game OSU had a huge advantage with only two successful scoring drives starting inside the 30 yard line, the rest were 31-35yd line. They had three first half aborted drives against Wisconsin and 3 sacks on Fields before the half and 2 more after the half.
Clemson has actually face 5 teams in the top 50 of total offense, whereas OSU has faced 2, Wis/Indiana in the top 50. So it's clear Clemson's Defense is more than ready for OSU.

The closer it gets to this game, the more the fuel these talking heads are trying to throw on OSU. Are they just now feeling that they need to pisss OSU players off to make them play harder, try harder!!!
I mean somebody had to of voted for OSU, and LSU to be ranked #1 & #2, we sure as h&ll didn't vote ourselves down from #1 where we ended last season and began this season as #1. Somebody had to vote us down bc we have been doing the same thing that got us to #1 at the end of last season, and that is we're still winning all our games like we were all of last season, and all of this season. Yep, we've done nothing different, we just keep winning our games, and the talking heads are doing the same as they done last season, they keep telling us that there are better teams than we are that are more deserving of #1 and #2 spots over us. Well, that is just fine bc we know that we will have to do the same as we did last year, and that is to just prove we are still the best team in the country for another year!!! They will rank somebody ahead of us again next season bc as long as there is a SEC conference, there will always be a team they will believe is better than we are only bc we are in the ACC, the basketball conference until Clemson kicks their A S S again in FB!!!

Sorry Colin Cowpatch, but Ohio State has plenty of team speed. Just as much as us. ETN is faster than Dobbins but other than that, there is not much of a difference.
We will win this in the trenches. Simple as that. People are going to be surprised how the game flows.

This nonsense that being in the Big Ten automatically means Ohio State is a slow team just dumbs down the discussion.
Watching them play a few times blows that notion away. They have some of the most athletic guys in the country.

I don't know how anyone listens to Cowturd, Fiembaum, etc. Ohio State doesn't fall in the slow B1G category anymore. This isn't 2005 OSU.
I agree this will be won in the trenches. Advantage OSU O against a skilled but inexperienced Clemson DL. The OSU DL vs Clemson OL is a push to me but Chase Young is a monster.
I'm also interested to see how physical Clemson plays in the WR/DB matchups. We haven't seen physical, elite WRs with size. Also, our WR are fantastic route runners but haven't had to play against physical DBs. To me, this is one of the important variables not many folks are discussing.

Basketball guy Cowherd doesn’t know anything about football.....he’s stuck in the (racist) rhetoric of the early part of this decade that said Southern teams had more blacks from the south, but that rhetoric doesn’t take into account that recruiting is a national game now, not a regional one.
Ohio State and Clemson recruit nationally now. You guys got an OT from Ohio, a QB coming in from California......Half of Ohio State’s roster is, guess what? Fast African American kids from the south. They aren’t slow fat white dudes from the Midwest. That’s a myth.
Clemson might beat Ohio State by 60, but it won’t be because of this. It comes down to execution. Who makes less mistakes and that’s a coin flip.
