Edit*: Some of you didn’t get that I was comparing their styles of play. Instead of their success already.
Cade hasn’t come close to Deshaun’s actual success
But that does not mean that Cade does not have the ability to be as good or even better.
Cade does. Look at his track record.
You know QBs can develop poise and confidence
Deshaun had those more so than any QB I’ve ever seen, but if Cade gets to that point watch out.
And yeah I definitely mean on the field, not off.
I think if he finds his ceiling this year, he’s number 1 overall good.
But even if he doesn’t get drafted 1st, it could be better.
Getting drafted to a team that already has pieces filled in across the board, but just lacking QB play is sort of an advantage. Not financially though.

Kids probably in the top 5 for QBs at Clemson as it sits.

The only other guys that can argue top 5 are Woody Dantzler, Whitehurst, and Jordan Homer(only bc he got a ring).
Id take Cade over anyone not above him in Clemson history. By the end of it Cade is likely to be #3 on this list.

Nothing wild about it. First undisputed undefeated team in CFP, made the same # of Nattys, committed less turn overs, and yes I weigh the poor off field decision making post Clemson into my rankings.

It's definitely an apples and oranges debate. Only thing I'd give DW4 the complete edge on is clutch ability because dude was money in crunch time and had the best college career send-off against Bama for the Natty.
There's a world where you can definitely make a case for either but saying it's not close is just trolling.

I think that TL was/is a better QB. DW was very good as well. Those that say DW was above TL - I just can’t agree. Nor did the NFL. The way TL ate Bamas lunch - clear winner.

Cade seems to panic when there is pressure and the moment gets big.
One of the signs of how great DW4 was going to be was his freshman season in how he just commanded the offense and never let it seem like no moment was too big.
I think Cade is a good college QB and I’m glad we have an experienced QB coming back, but I still question if he’s that guy that will lead a drive with 90 seconds left against a Michigan/UGA/ or even a South Carolina .
Fortunately, all these questions will be answered in a few months

that thrived in the situations that most QBs shrink in. He was a special breed of QB that is rare and hard to find. There was never a doubt with Deshaun. ITs the only time in my life where we had a QB that I never doubted. Louisville last year would have never happened with Deshaun at QB. So its a bit unfair to put Cade in that category. But maybe there is a conversation in the Tajh and below category. But maybe it clicks this year and Cade becomes a legend.

Cade is mid round draft pick.
He can play in NFL right now as a back up QB.
And I think he makes another leap this year just like last year , though not as big of a leap.
He's better than Boyd who was drafted in the 6th round by the Jets and later played for the Steelers albeit not much.
CK2 throws one of the most accurate balls in college football. That was his strength as per his recruiting profile ( 247 )
