I always get the sense that when a kid's favorites number more than 2 or 3 that they have no idea what they're going to do ... sort of like me when I am standing on the beer aisle .

If you were an excellent high school football player and had schools recruiting you... would you really have a top 10 or 12 list?
For me, it was Clemson or bust. I didn’t even apply anywhere else. If I would not have gotten in, then I would have tried for CofC or the dreaded Harvard on the Hill maybe... I would have figured that out but - I got into Clemson and the rest is history...
My point is, do you really have NO CLUE where you want to go to college? Is this really possible? For me it was definitely not, but I wasn’t recruited for sports. Personally, I would have like a top 3 maybe 4.
Interested to see if anyone can shed some light on this.

Look at his picture with all schools of interest. What state is he in? What team is front and center on that pic? Notice the Ohio St player laying down and off to the side. I'd bet $100 this a Michigan commit but he's enjoying the process and he should.

Yea I think you might be lookin too much into the pic of his top 10 teams. I’ve seen a lot of pics like that where clemson was in the back and we landed him or vice versus Clemson in the front and we don’t get him. Most the time these kids get others to make those for them so he prob didn’t have input in all the placement. He lives in Michigan so it prob was another kid from Michigan that made it so that could be why they are in front. The thing that is weird to me is the gaps In rankings. Espn I think has him like 200s and rivals doesn’t even have him in top 300 but 24/7 has him at like 28 overall. If he wants to come and actually play for clemson he better go ahead and pick TE bc I highly doubt he would have a shot at playin DE for us. Heck if he wants to be a DE I doubt we would even have room for him with Bresee, Burch, and Murphy being high priority. This scholly offer def seems the coaches are really wanting him to play TE for us. That’s just my thought, we are after him as a TE. Go Tigers!!!

In HS FB, he looks to be doing a good job at both positions, and I would let him at least try what ever position that he feels he is the best at. Then, our coaches tell him the position that they feel he would be better at, and play him there!!!

Oh yea def if the kid wants to try and play DE that’s fine. I’m just saying as far as scholarships and how many go to what position he will be much better off as coming in as a TE and asking coaches to let him try DE but if doesn’t work or no hope of playing he stays at TE. I really just mean numbers wise with the 2020 class and the DEs we are going after above him, he should stick to TE until on campus lol Go Tigers!!!

If he did the layout himself, which is as totally possible as not,and he truly does not know his top three prospects already, you could assume on a subconscious level there is already a leaning towards certain teams. The biggest and most centered picks are not likely. It is a screen to throw you off. The smallest figures are likely smoke and filler. Actually I do like the layover comment as it means Ohio is a second thought or already leaning away as a real interest. Filter out the obvious also walked teams and you have a better idea of his real contenders.
In the event he did the layout himself, he is definitely on the intellectual side, so filter out the SEC teams. To all my SEC friends; that was a joke.
If he did not do the layout himself pitch out the above. He is still smart as he delegated the work to experts.
