But if any of y'all live in Charleston and are able to breathe clean air, give this man a tip of the hat.
I think I told y'all about how he saved his 2nd Lt. from a minefield in Belgium in WW II, too.
Couldn't ask for a better role model.

Cherish the memories! You have my sympathy upon your loss. My dad passed fifteen years ago and it still hurts every year because he loved Tiger football and so much more. He too was an M.D. and member of the "Greatest Generation."

Mom got to Heaven Monday night and is with my Dad. She was the "Official Church Greeter" at their church for many years, and I know she was there to welcome your Dad across the threshold. We've had a hard week as well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Jacobs family at this time. We know they are all rejoicing right now.
I told Mom that I would see her soon--thirty years or so is but a blink of the eye in God's plan.
